More About the Author

In May 1967, Kenneth Copeland was walking along the bed of the Arkansas River in Tulsa, Oklahoma, when the Lord dropped the vision of the ministry into his heart: to preach the gospel to the nations--a call that would include using every available voice to preach the uncompromised message of faith to meet the needs of people worldwide.

It all started though with simple steps of obedience and faith, walking in love and the integrity of God's Word.

In 1957 at 20 years of age, with a hit record, Pledge of Love, at #14 on the national charts and #1 on the local charts Kenneth looked to be on his way to a successful singing career appearing on American Bandstand and featured next to Ricky Nelson in Dig Magazine. But God had other plans. He met Gloria and asked her to marry him on their first date. She said yes. At that time, they lived in a rented apartment with a rollaway bed, coffeepot they cooked in and kept their food on the porch to keep it cold. Things were not abundant but as Gloria sat reading a Bible given to Kenneth from his mother one day she prayed, "God, take my life and do something with it." Shortly thereafter Kenneth became a Christian and five years later at the age of 30 he obeyed God, packed up his family, and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to enroll at Oral Roberts University in spring of 1967.
Kenneth Copeland Ministries Staff

Kenneth applied to be Oral Roberts' co-pilot and he was made part of the flight crew attending all the tent meetings and crusades. It was during this time that he was learning exponentially through on-the-job training. Just a few months after Kenneth worked for Oral, God called him to start his own ministry and on September 7, 1967, Kenneth Copeland Ministries was birthed.

"Kenneth Copeland Ministries was birthed out of love for the people and a commitment to bring people the Word," states Kenneth Copeland. "Our lives are totally wrapped up in ministering to the people. When we say, "We're here for you." we mean it to this point--everything we do, everything we preach, every broadcast we come on, everywhere we minister, everything we say and do is prayed, engineered, designed to minister to the people.... God called us to take His message of love and faith to the whole world. We care about you and we want to help you find the answers you need in God's Word.

Kellie Copeland Swisher, Kenneth and Gloria's daughter, believes that is what sets Kenneth and Gloria apart. "People all the time use the phrases 'Word church,' 'Word people,' 'Word movement.'" states Kellie. "Forty years ago, faith was ambiguous. It wasn't a movement. To us, it was just a way of life. Mom and Dad said, 'If we see it in the Word, we're going to form our life around that. We're going to change our life to fit the Word.' It's the way we live our life. Every decision they make is formed around the Word."

"Integrity and integrity in God's Word," continues John Copeland, son and CEO of KCM. "That's what this ministry has stood on for 40 years and will stand on for the next 40 years. People have said word of faith teaches that you don't ever have problems and that's just not true. Our families have been faced with adversities. Sometimes you just go through something. It's not that you don't face obstacles and don't face adversities, it's what you do when you are faced with those adversities. How do you handle yourself, what do you do? You have a choice. And we were raised not to just take it but to fight it, stand against it, believe God and the integrity of His Word and you will come out on the other side."

Kenneth and Gloria have learned the principle of connecting to God in faith. By the Lord's blessing, they have taught their children, grandchildren and Partners the world over the power of connecting with God and His Word every day in every way in their life, making for a great heritage and legacy.

5.0 out of 5 stars SCRIPTURELY ACCURATE, May 4, 2000
This review is from: A Ceremony of Marriage (Paperback)
The traditional ceremony (in sickness/health, richer/poorer, better/worse etc.) is 50% BAD NEWS! This is NOT God's best. If you want to start your marriage on the Word of God and not the world's idea then this is for you. It is a beautiful ceremony and very moving. It brings two people together in a covenant of marriage. This is the most powerful union between two born-again believers, and everyone listening will know it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended by my Pastor, January 27, 2005

This review is from: A Ceremony of Marriage (Paperback)
This book was recommended to me by the Pastor officiating my wedding. He claimed the same thing that the Amazon user, "allysond", reviewed as well on this book. He told me that the "traditional" or "modern" vows used today with "better/poorer", "sickness/health", etc. were not as greatly worded as the Bible would intend. Kenneth Copeland gives a ceremony that reaches more into Christian beliefs and keeps God in the ceremony more so than the modern vows seem to do. I am happy to say that we will be using this book as our guide when saying our vows in our upcoming wedding!

5.0 out of 5 stars Marriage vows for a Christian and saved Couple, July 16, 2011
This review is from: A Ceremony of Marriage (Paperback)
I was at a wedding today and the minister who preformed the ceremony used this book.I was blessed by the way it was laid out and it's contents.I thought the minister had wrote it for this couple seeing that they were from His church, but that was not the case. The wording was complete with scriptures and verses with wisdom.I highly recommend this book to all who will be performing a marriage for saved couples, for we understand that everyone that gets married is not saved.

This is the perfect book for such an occasion.Beautiful.....
