An individual that experienced the fire,

As an individual that served on the Cerro Grande Fire with the U.S. Forest Service, Horseshoe Meadow Hotshot Firecrew, I found the book to truly touch and capture the moment. The author clearly and accurately displayed the history, natural beauty, pride, and fortitude of the Los Alamos community and the emotion and severity of the wildfire. The book was well researched and spoke to the overall effort of the residents, neighboring communities, and individuals from throughout the country that attacked the immense challenges of suppressing the fire and the recovery post devastation. Serving on the Cerro Grande Fire will be an unforgettable time in my life and this book will keep that experience in perspective.
