5.0 out of 5 stars Cerrone's Paradise Found!, January 28, 2005

I actually prefer this release to his debut ("Love in C-Minor"). The CD includes the cover artwork for the European release - not the G rated US cover - a major +++. All the songs extended and identical to the album release - Thanks to Unidisc! "Cerrone's Paradise" is a 16 minute plus escape to euro-disco fabulousness! Featuring CERRONES signature sound (intricate string arrangements, solid bass line and sexy vocals)make this release appeal to those who fancy DON RAY, ALEC C. COSTANDINOS, LOVE & KISSES, and the like. A release for those who appreciate TRUE CLASSIC DISCO!

4.0 out of 5 stars Cerrone is having a ball, December 9, 2001

This review is from: Cerrone's Paradise (Audio CD)
Cerrone's second album is magnificent, even if it cannot be considered, qualitatively, exactly equal to his debut album in every respect. Ending the album with a reprise of the very long title hit track which opens the album is a great idea, considering the reprise is a small compact version. Also "take Me" is wonderful. "Time For Love" isn't that much impressing, though.

5.0 out of 5 stars CERRONE'S PARADISE IS THE PLACE TO BE!, January 27, 2008
This review is from: Cerrone's Paradise (Audio CD)
Cerrone's follow up to his classic debut may not be a huge leap forward creative wise, but he still gives us the goods. If you loved "Love in C Minor" you should have no problem appreciating this. Along with Chic, Cerrone's is a master of upscale disco.

This album is notable for two things. One is the 16 minute long title track. Even though it sounds like a Love in C minor outtake, he's able to alternate the key elements of that track to great effect. Check out the infecious break and the jazzy climax near the end of the song. While it may not compare to "Love in C Minor", Cerrone proves that it's possible to remake a classic if you're inspired. Another reason this album is notable is the original album cover. This cover is one of the most decadent ever assembled. It makes the Sticky Fingers album cover look like a school textbook! Going back to the music, Cerrone's Paradise isn't a complete remake of his debut. "Take Me" is another uptempo shaka that's in the same vien but has a fresh groove (they could've pumped out the bass a little more in the remastering. Just a thought) and "Give in to Love" is a quiet storm slow jam. While it tends to drag a little, it still makes for great make out music- especially if you've been dancin all night. The album ends with a reprise of the title track.

Overall this is a satisfying release from the Parisian Playboy. What's amazing is that this is not even his best album and it still ground mainstream disco into dust! What's also amazing is how fresh this music still sound today (more than I can say about other styles of dance music that came throughout the course of the 80's and 90's).

This album is another solid collection of soulful euro disco. If you give this a chance, it will be everything Paradise promised to you!
