Cerrone's Paradise Found!,

I actually prefer this release to his debut ("Love in C-Minor"). The CD includes the cover artwork for the European release - not the G rated US cover - a major +++. All the songs extended and identical to the album release - Thanks to Unidisc! "Cerrone's Paradise" is a 16 minute plus escape to euro-disco fabulousness! Featuring CERRONES signature sound (intricate string arrangements, solid bass line and sexy vocals)make this release appeal to those who fancy DON RAY, ALEC C. COSTANDINOS, LOVE & KISSES, and the like. A release for those who appreciate TRUE CLASSIC DISCO!

Cerrone is having a ball,

Cerrone's second album is magnificent, even if it cannot be considered, qualitatively, exactly equal to his debut album in every respect. Ending the album with a reprise of the very long title hit track which opens the album is a great idea, considering the reprise is a small compact version. Also "take Me" is wonderful. "Time For Love" isn't that much impressing, though.

CERRONE'S PARADISE IS THE PLACE TO BE!,
This review is from: Cerrone's Paradise (Audio CD)
Cerrone's follow up to his classic debut may not be a huge leap forward creative wise, but he still gives us the goods. If you loved "Love in C Minor" you should have no problem appreciating this. Along with Chic, Cerrone's is a master of upscale disco. This album is notable for two things. One is the 16 minute long title track. Even though it sounds like a Love in C minor outtake, he's able to alternate the key elements of that track to great effect. Check out the infecious break and the jazzy climax near the end of the song. While it may not compare to "Love in C Minor", Cerrone proves that it's possible to remake a classic if you're inspired. Another reason this album is notable is the original album cover. This cover is one of the most decadent ever assembled. It makes the Sticky Fingers album cover look like a school textbook! Going back to the music, Cerrone's Paradise isn't a complete remake of his debut. "Take Me" is another uptempo shaka that's in the same vien but has a fresh groove (they could've pumped out the bass a little more in the remastering. Just a thought) and "Give in to Love" is a quiet storm slow jam. While it tends to drag a little, it still makes for great make out music- especially if you've been dancin all night. The album ends with a reprise of the title track. Overall this is a satisfying release from the Parisian Playboy. What's amazing is that this is not even his best album and it still ground mainstream disco into dust! What's also amazing is how fresh this music still sound today (more than I can say about other styles of dance music that came throughout the course of the 80's and 90's). This album is another solid collection of soulful euro disco. If you give this a chance, it will be everything Paradise promised to you!

"Cerrone's Paradise", Cerrone II if you will is the successful follow up to his debut album. The album opens with another sultry long playing Eurodisco hit, the title track. That is followed by the even more energetic hit song, "Take Me" which is a favourite of mine! Track three is a smooth, sultry slow jam called "Time For Your Love." This song conjures up visions of warm Summer nights, slow dancing with a light breeze in the air. The album closes with a radio edit length reprise of "Cerrone's Paradise." Overall, it is another album well worth adding to your collecting especially if you have an affinity for Eurodisco! Recommended!

Considering the high standing Cerrone has for disco lovers, and his continued influence on dance music in general, I think I expected a little bit more from this album. It was common for albums to consist of only a few songs in the disco days. But this one clocks in at less than half an hour and somehow it doesn't seem to match up to the standard of say "Keep On Jumpin" by Musique or "I've Found Love" by Love and Kisses. The title track is rather glorious however, with its dreamy vocals, wah wah guitar, Cerrones mad drumming, sounds of girls having fun in the background (what could they be doing?), and lots of strings. This is considered to be one of THE disco classics of the era.It ends in a lounge chillout way."Take Me" is next up, and it has a great intro.Still, it is not one of his best, although it does appear to have many fans.Good but not great. Some nice funky guitar work in it."Time For Love" is a pretty ballad, very smoochy sort of music, French vocals, and dreamy lyrics. Not what one associates with Cerrone but a pleasant song nevertheless. Finally, a pointless reprise of "Cerrones Paradise" that runs about 3 minutes.Perhaps if this had been coupled with "Love In C Minor" it would have been more econmomical. Its cover was not the same as pictured on Amazon either, instead a kind of tacky Hawaiian themed cover. It came really quickly however and I do give thumbs up to the seller for that.I'm not disappointed with this cd: just would have liked a bit more bang for my buck.It should be noted that the production and actual music on here are top notch.
