I have found this book an invaluable tool in studying for the CPAN certification exam. It is also a great teaching tool for new PACU nurses and for seasoned nurses working in PACU. I would recommend this book for anyone interested in expanding their knowledge base in PACU.

Extremely helpful when studying for CPAN. This also good to use as a review to keep current.

I found this book extremely helpful in preparing for my CPAN test- not only did it brush up my test-taking skills, but I also learned many new tidbits of information I had forgotten along the way!

I highly recommend this reference for anyone studying for certification in perianesthesia nursing. Although I did use other references to increase my knowledge in areas of my weaknesses, I found that reading through this book twice, as well as studying the Standards of Care for Perianesthesia Nurses, prepared me to pass the test. The question-answer- rational format helped geer me toward finding in the question what was needed in choosing the correct answer, when two answers seemed close. This is a real key in passing these types of difficult exams. Good luck!

In general, it is a good review book but some of the answers and the rationale behind them are not clear nor convincing. I'm in a review group and ALL of us use the same book (we have no choice since it is the only review book available for our specific specialty) and they have the same opinion about it.

This was a GREAT review book for CPAN! Because it has two answer keys for each segment, you can check your answers only, or learn from the rationales. I was able to spend more time on the areas I was weak in, and rationales were all well explained.

THis book has question and answers with rationales which I prefer when studying for a certification exam. This would be a great asset to add to studying material.

This book gave a good review of the type of questions that could be asked on the ASPAN Perianesthesia Certification tests. I felt it was a little outdated in that it included questions for both the Inpatient and Ambulatory tests mixed together.

I bought this a few weeks ago, and just got a Kindle as a gift. I hoped I could get a free or discounted Kindle version to study on the go, but it would be at the full price.
There is an Amazon Upgrade program that allows purchase of a digital version, to read on line, not on Kindle, but the books I bought aren't in the program.
Aside from the technical issues, I have noticed the book is wierdly organized; I've been randomly looking at questions, then looking for the answer to check myself. The answer is beyond where I expect to find it.
I plan to take the exam in May; will update my review after that.

Good question and answer text. It gives you a preview of what kind of questions to expect. Didn't like all perianesthesia areas in one text.
