First, this is a bad and inclomplete adaptation of a previous version of the book, I guess with the purpose of making money and selling an updated version, but has errors, the explanations are too simple, there are issues that no longer ask the new version of the 310-065 exam, the exam at the end of practice is not significant of the new version. Should bring at least one example in Java for each point in the exam.

En primer lugar, esta es una mala e inclompleta adaptacion de una version anterior del libro, supongo que con el proposito de sacar y vender una version actualizada, pero tiene errores, las explicaciones son demasiado simples, hay temas que ya no se preguntan en la nueva version del examen 310-065, el examen al final de practica no es significativo de la nueva version. Por lo menos deberia traer un ejemplo en Java de cada punto tratado.

Espero lo mejoren en un futuro.

When I bought this book, I understood that it did not have much in the way of content, but more of a book to prepare you for the exam, showing you the topics in which to have ascertained. This book failed to even do that in its 169 pages. There were many concepts missing from the book, that are even listed on the outline from the certification's exam company. These were not miniscule topics overlooked, but entire sections ignored. What is given in the content, isn't even enough security-based points to cover an easier security exam. I would not recommend this book to anyone. If you have 2-4 years of security experience, research it as a hobby, and you know just about everything in the book like the back of your hand; you are probably buying the wrong CEH book. Even experienced hackers will find some new information in a prep books like this one (with the exception of the lack of topics). The one book I've looked through, and have seen to be an excellent prep guide for the CEH, is The CEH Prep Guide: The Comprehensive Guide to Certified Ethical Hacking.

This was a good book to complete the training necessary to take your CEHv6 Exam. It outlines the exam topics and covers them briefly. It is not intended to be a replacement for training and they specify that for you right on page one. It was a good resource for reviewing and did have some sample exam questions at the end. It also covers some utilities and applications that were not included in other review guides or in the class. For the price, it's definitely worth it and you can run through the entire book in a couple of hours as both a review and overview.

Quick understandable explainations of theory and tools for the CEH student. Probably not a great stand alone book, as it lacks detail, but good foundational information.
