I bought a refurbished unit. It looked like new. Worked perfectly. I am glad I stuck to Linksys as they make great products.

UPDATE: The replacement router that Linksys sent me (which was brand new in box and not refurbished) died after about 4 months. No warranty on the replacement unit, so I had to buy another router. After a lot of research I picked the ASUS RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router which has been performing fabulously. I wish I'd done the research first and not been such a cheapskate and gotten the Asus originally instead of the Linksys. If you are looking for a simpler router more equivalent to this Linksys, I'd still look at an Asus router - they have some great entry level routers as well.

Original review: My refurbished router died after about 85 days into its 90 day warranty. It took over 3 hours (no exaggeration) on the phone with an incompetent tech who did not know anything about networking or routers to get a replacement authorized. If your problem isn't on their list, don't expect any help. I only got a replacement when he ran out of every single thing on his lists and got authorization from a manager.

Ironically, when you are on hold with them they have an automated message that plays over and over again telling you how they've won awards for their great customer service and it is the best. It is terrible, even worse than Comcast. The router itself is okay, but it is very dumbed down so you can't even do things like give a particular device a static IP (which I wanted to do with my network laser printer since this router won't show it on the network unless it is on, unlike my previous router which would see it even in standby. And if the router doesn't see it, your computer can't see it.

I was impressed by other reviews. Somehow it has not worked for me. Maybe because I bought a refurbished item and I did not know why it was refurbished in the first place.
This router will hardly connect to my internet or it will not broadcast my internet to my devices. My devices would register the wifi connectivity and show full five bars signal strength but they will be just blank wifi bars with no internet in it. Just like stuffing a woman's belly to seem like pregnant but never ever delivering!
First I thought it's my internet providers and I gave them an endless calls and we kept trying to trouble shoot variety of factors. After many issues they adviced that it's my Motorola surfboard that was not linking to the internet. I went ahead and bough another prestige modern modem with supersonic connectivity. Still the same problems.
After much troubles we came into conclusions that it's the router that have issues. This is because my computer can register internet direct from my modem via Ethernet cable. But at the same time note of my devices can connect to Internet by wifi. This problem arises every time there's power interruption.

Nice interface and features, but regular band range through walls is weak. Not as good as my old Dlink N router. Don't know about high band.

This is the second "refurb" unit, which apparently means repackaged. The first would drop off the LAN every day, until you power cycled it. This ones SEEMS to be dropping off the cable WAN a few times a day, though I can't know until I hook up the old D-link. (BTW, Net Uptime Monitor is a great way to log your WAN for ten bucks.)

I wondered why I suddenly lost 50% of my 19MB of Speedtest Comcast throughput (same in the router internal speed test). Because I (stupidly) turned on media prioritization. Even with my PC as a high priority device (not to mention using the router internal test), along with my SIP phone and Bluray, I only got 8.6MB. Turned it off, boom - 19MB. What a stupid, useless function. We were not watching a movie on the Bluray or using the phone. Just sitting. Good job Cisco. ("Oh, Cisco! Oh, Pancho!)

Oh, it also blocks access to my SB6141 Surfboard modem configuration page. Maybe I can clone the MAC to make that work. Or just use the old Dlink. Ya, that's what I'll do.

I purchased two. "LIT" the first one up , configured etc... and for the life of me could not get the 2GHZ radio to work. 5 was fine and I did everything I could think of (upgrade firmware, downgrade firmware, reset etc...) and was not able to get the 2GHZ to light up. Plugged in the 2nd EA2700 and both radio's worked fine and have been up and running for a week. I am returning the non working unit and will replace it with another 2700. Unfortunately they don't allow a "REPLACE/RETURN" so I am having to return it outright and purchasing a new "refurb".

I got this refurbished and ended up returning it. I could not get a signal to hold for clients connected downstairs in my townhouse when an old Buffalo router in the same spot had no problems. I also did not like that there was a web based Cisco provisioning process that I skipped but ended up having to do later on as a troubleshooting step.

Since Cisco sold Linksys it seems that they have moved on from developing updates for firmware on this unit and the last posted one was at least a year old.
