Since the late 80's early 90's i've had a soft spot for cerwin vega. The little CV emblem, the red surround... just something about them always drew me towards them. I have a dual voice coil 15" subwoofer that has seen its fair share of abuse and 17 years later still continues to rock - although I need to find a place to put the darn thing other than my closet... but I digress.

I bought new living room furniture and decided that my old pioneers needed to retire due to their massive size. I instantly looked into the moden generation cerwin vegas. I found these little bookshelf speakers and the CLS12s powered subwoofer on amazon through a1components. Picked up 2 pairs of the ve-5m, the ve-5c and the cls12s, hooked them up to my existing kenwood receiver (that will probably get an upgrade soon) and everything sounds great. The sound is clean and clear, the separation is wonderful and the bass is earth shaking. It took a little while to dial in the crossover on the sub but it's dialed in pretty well now and everything sounds great together. movies have that nice explosive boom, articulate music is clear and accurate... considering the price I paid for all of the aforementioned speakers (around $450 for everything), I couldn't be happier.
