Makes the walk enjoyable,

I recently purchased The Illusion Collar by Cesar Millan. The Illusion Collar and Leash Set By Cesar Millan: BLACK and MEDIUM SizeWhat a difference this collar makes when walking my 83lb Standard Poodle. I have tried every piece of equipment from harnesses to head collars and in the Illusion Collar I've finally found something that really works, and it even comes with a leash. Excellent price point IMHO. I purchased a size med as suggest for my specific breed. I do wish that I had sized up to a large as the top collar doesn't quite have the adjustment that I would like. I will say that my poodle is on the heavy side. Walking is now an enjoyable experience for me as well as my poodle, Miss Diva. I'm delighted that I found The Illusion Collar on Amazon. com

Good Investment,

My 63 pound 10 month old dogo was a puller. My knee was actually starting to hurt pretty bad from reining her in. I tried several types of collars including the gentle leader [even after several uses I never knew when she'd throw an unexpected rolling fit] and a classic "choke" chain. This collar works great. It really saved my knee for sure! She will still pull when she gets really excited about something but it's easier to rein her in and she pulls a lot less frequently. Definately the best thing I've tried. It's a little pricey I think but it has been worth it.

Works great on my boxer,

My boxer dog now walks always besides me, never in front me. Now I can jog with my dog, if he wants to go faster he can't because of the collar. The only thing that I didn't like is the leash it can slip from my hand very easy because I think is to thin.

The Illusion collar is a wonderful product. It has made a world of difference in the way our dog walks on the leash. We had a lot of pulling issues and those have been resolved. Thanks to Cesar Millan for a great product that really works.

We used this for our 2-yr old lab retriever, Willy, and it works so well... very effective, gentle correction that he really responds to. His leash behavior was noticeably improved after only a few walks. Great product.

We bought an Illusion Collar and Leash Set for our newly adopted shelter dog. We believe he had not been walked very much - mostly kept in a yard - so he pulled alot. He is part hound, so he also follows his nose into every nook and cranny. This collar works well to gently guide him to not put his nose to the ground unless we allow it and to not chase every duck on the ponds near our house. It is a bit more work to put it on, but he seems to know that this collar means that it is time for a proper walk. We use a different leash for his potty walks. I would recommend this collar - it seems very humane and obtains good outcomes.

i have a 7 month old golden retriever puppy and he pulls - a lot. The first time I used the collar he seemed to respond but then after a few days he just didn't care at all that i was trying to correct him - and then I started to worry because he continued to pull that I was going to do permanent damage to his trachea and throat. Maybe it is just his personality but i have found that trying to train him with negative correction to be hugely frustrating and disappointing. The only type of training that has ever consistently work with him has been positive reinforcement with treats. I don't recommend this method of training with dogs like goldens at all...

I have a 100 pound labrador - granted she has been "trained" (not just obedience school) - but has always been VERY dominant and pulls on the walk. Every time we start our walk, I have to take at least 15 minutes out to get her to obey and not pull - and always half way through the walk she is pulling again. This has happened for over a year - bottom line is that she is a very dominant and stubborn dog. I have always had the same problem with both choke and pinch collars that they slide down the neck, and have always suspected that this is part of the problem with getting her to obey right out of the door.I got the collar today, and decided to use it on her to take her to go pee - let me tell you - my anxious, excited and ready to pee dog immediatley noticed the difference and was in a full heel at my side out the door and on to the sidewalk. I was amazed. I'm not saying that if you have an untrained dog without any obedience that this collar is going to substitute practice and training - but if you have a dog that is controlled but just on the stubborn side, it works great. I would also say if you are training your dog this is a great collar as well, I can only imagine how quickly I can get my dog working on this collar.

This collar does exactly what it says: it helps you maintain control of your dog while walking. It's not a substitute for proper training, but it allows you to put pressure from the collar just under the dog's chin, where the dog is more sensitive, and therefore more likely to respond nicely to your correction. It's a little cumbersome to put on the dog, but after the first few times it's okay. I worry that the collar would be worthless if the plastic snapping mechanism breaks, but so far it seems pretty sturdy. I've had it for a month, and would recommend it.
