Cetaphil Antibacterial Gentle Cleansing Bar is indeed the optimum choice for my problem skin.

This pH balance non-soap cleansing bar is a super gentle all over body wash. I even use it on my face in lieu of shaving cream - it's that soothing! The antibacterial ingredient - triclosan, also helps protect my freshly shaved face.

This stuff's pricey
Cetaphil Antibacterial Cleansing Bar is very soft and it melts away quickly once it's under the shower stream.

TIP: To reduce wastage of this pricey cleansing bar, don't lather up under the shower, lather up your washcloth instead and store your Cetaphil Cleansing Bar away from the shower (I keep mine in a covered soap dish).

I cannot express my gratitude for this soap. I've lived with eczema and psoriasis for the last 10 years. After trying Dial Gold antibacterial soap, I avoided antibacterial soaps altogether because I didn't like the way it dried out my skin. I was skeptical of Cetaphil, but decided to give it a try based on all the glowing reviews. It's been 3 months since I started using this soap and my skin has cleared up considerably. I haven't gone this long with clear skin for years. I don't know what is in this soap, but I will say it's close to a miracle for those of us with skin problems. I used to be exclusive to Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash (fragrance free), but I've now switched entirely to Cetaphil. This soap does not dry out your skin like other antibacterial soaps. In fact, it is so gentle that you can't even tell it's antibacterial. It's more pricey, but definitely worth it. I just hope they never discontinue manufacturing this wonderful product.

I was recently diagnosed with rosacea and I have used this soap 1 week and my face is completely CLEAR. I wish I would have found this product a year ago.

I've always had dry, sensitive skin and looked hard for a product that was gentle enough for my skin. The Cetaphil line of products is made for individuals with sensitive skin and is ideal for people that can't handle products with harsh chemicals and strong fragrances. The Cetaphil bar is extremely mild and has a pleasant smell that is not overly aromatic. While a bit on a pricey side per bar, I find it is well worth it for having skin that is not itchy or flaky.

My husband and I have been looking for a good bar of soap that is antibacterial and doesn't roughen up your skin like sandpaper. Our choices seemed relatively limited as the other part of the equation is that we wanted to leave the shower feeling clean, not with a film of something unknown left on our skin - that's what lotion is for.

This soap was recommended by his dermatologist and I can see why. It's ultra gentle on your skin and doesn't have the rotgut feeling of the cheap soaps. It has a pleasant baby-powder smell (I realize that that is subjective, so if you hate the smell of baby powder, it might be wise to stay away from this product as the smell does linger for quite a while). Additionally, it seems to last a relatively long time, this won't be a soap you'll be replacing every week with our type of use. Between the both of us we have probably 12 showers a week and they last from 10-15 minutes per shower. We replace the bar about every two weeks.

I would suggest getting this pack rather than buying them individually once you like the soap as you're getting at least one bar free.

A doctor recommended Cetaphil because of a condition with my oil glands that caused my skin to break out. I found that the Antibacterial Cetaphil works better then the regular Cetaphil for clearing out my skin infections. Resent research shows you have to scrup for at least 10 seconds to clean the bacteria out of the skin. This is also good because it does not dry out your skin like regular antibacterial soaps. It does dry out my feet and I do need to put extra oil on them. It is nice at my age (58) to use a gentle soap that will not damage the skin. I like the way I can rinse until my skin is just where I want it, not to much oil and not to dry. This product is well worth the price and seems to last longer then the cheaper bars of soap.

I used to use this soap during the winter when the effects of heating and cold air made for tender, easily chafed skin. But time and needs change and I now use this product year-round. This soap is gentle to the skin and does not leave much residue as those commercial dry-skin cleansers. This is the anti-bacterial version although there is a 'plain' version. It's expensive as soap goes, but I have found that the six-pack by-subscription set up Amazon provides brings the per bar cost way below what you'll find on the pharmacy shelves.

There's little fragrance [unlike most commerical soaps] to irritate either the skin or the olfactory. Using a wash cloth, it makes rich suds and it rinses clean. Beware placing it in on a soap holder in the direct stream of your shower. Because it is a super-fatted soap it will wash away before your eyes if you aren't careful about placement.

First of all, let me say this soap basically made my eczema go away. No more steroid creams or break out rashes. I've been using harsher soaps (dial, ivory) my whole life, and when a dermatologist diagnosed me with eczema in my late 20s, I thought that I'd be applying steroid creams on and off the rest of my life for this "controllable disease." Not so. After controlling the first few rashes, I started using cetaphil bar soap in the shower and the liquid facial cleanser at night, and 6 months later, I have yet to have a recurrence.

However, Amazon stopped selling the standard bar and decided to jump on the antibacterial bandwagon. I see this as an additional chemical, Triclosan, that has dubious benifit can can cause possible harm-- wikipedia can tell you more about this. As somebody who has a sensitive skin condition, I do not need additional ingredients in soap. Yes you can buy the non antibacterial bar on amazon, but since it is not carried by amazon, the price comes out to be 75% more. Crummy.

I'm 31 and have a worse time with acne spurts now then when I was a teenager! Very frustrating. I have spent LOTS of money on various facial cleansing products, thinking the more expensive the product was the better it must work. WRONG! I also went to the dermatologist and was on antibiotics, worked for a little bit but hated taking the pills. Anyway, I was at my wits end and started browsing through products on amazon, reading customer reviews, and found this product. I couldnt believe how inexpensive it was and had tried this brands moisturizer before and loved it, so I thought, what could I loose!
I have been using it now for about three weeks and LOVE it! My skin started clearing up right after I started using it and has been clear since! It really does work. I also use it with the CeraVe am / pm moisturizer.
