This is a very gentle soap that leaves my skin feeling clean and soft.
LegsDiamond
I buy it in the six-pack to save money as it is more expensive than regular soap, but so much more worth it for its benefits.
D. Murrells
The dermatologist recommended this soap for my husband who has very sensitive skin.

I have terrible skin - eczema AND acne. This is really the best and only cleanser I can use. It is great for both face and body - my skin is extremely oily on the face and extremely dry everywhere else. This cleanses really well, getting all the excess oil off my face, yet never dries too much. If I use anything else, even for a day, I find that my acne flares up. My skin in dry areas becomes tight and scaly with other cleansers.

I'm not really a fan of Triclosan, either, but I've been using this for years with no apparent adverse effects. According to MD Consult, Triclosan is effective against a variety of bacteria, is popular in healthcare settings, and the only adverse effect listed is possible irritation in some people. It appears that concerns about microbial resistance were possible in theory, but research has shown it is not significant for Triclosan.

Cetaphil Antibacterial Gentle Cleansing Bar is indeed the optimum choice for my problem skin.

This pH balance non-soap cleansing bar is a super gentle all over body wash. I even use it on my face in lieu of shaving cream - it's that soothing! The antibacterial ingredient - triclosan, also helps protect my freshly shaved face.

CONS:
This stuff's pricey
Cetaphil Antibacterial Cleansing Bar is very soft and it melts away quickly once it's under the shower stream.

TIP: To reduce wastage of this pricey cleansing bar, don't lather up under the shower, lather up your washcloth instead and store your Cetaphil Cleansing Bar away from the shower (I keep mine in a covered soap dish).

This product offers a few buying choices. You can buy Cetaphil Antibacterial Cleansing Bars singly, or you can save some money by buying the six packs using Amazon or other sellers. You can even get Cetaphil six packs using Amazon 'Subscribe & Save'. Great! :))

Let's talk a bit about my face.
1.) My skin has never been awesome, but as I've turned 28, 29 and 30, it became less awesome by the day. (WTF?)
2.) Cancer did me no favors. Stress + cancer stuff + medicine= Bad, bad skin.
3.) This made my skin feel great and prevented my adult break-outs, but at a cost.

Pros:
- The smell is decent

- It works. I massage this on my face in the morning and rinse and again before bed and rinse. (I spend at least a minute gently massaging it into my face.) It doesn't stop those pesky monthly breakouts, but it has evened my tone and prevented everyday acne since I started using it.

- It's unassuming. I love the Cetaphil brand. They aren't in your face with marketing. They just make good stuff. I appreciate that.

- It's not ridiculous. It's under $4 a bar. I can handle that.

Cons:
- It's not GOOD for you. Should you use an anti-bacterial face wash? Probably not. (Especially since anti-bacterial agents are making their way into our lakes + water.) I am currently having a karma war with myself over this. It has KNOWN chemicals that aren't good for you. (For a cancer survivor, this terrifies me.) Yet, I haven't found a face wash as good as this one. Source:[...] This one: http://www.amazon.com/La-Roche-Toleriane-Gentle-Cleansing/dp/B001CL890Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359765236&sr=8-1&keywords=La+Roche-Posay+Toleriane+Gentle+Cleansing+Bar has a (10) rating and it's $55.00. I'm cheap. $4.00 works.

- I'm afraid that my body + face bacteria are going to someday become resistant and I won't be able to use other bar soaps. It sounds scientific, right?

Overall, it's a decent option for those who have problem skin to try. Make sure to RESEARCH your cosmetics to find out how harmful they are. Knowledge is power.

I bought this after using numerous facial cleansers and being disappointed how most foam up and tend to dry out my acne prone combination skin. This soap feels wonderful on my skin, doesn't feel like it strips my skin of its natural oils, and leaves it feeling clean without that tight feeling. I've noticed a difference in my breakouts because I believe my skin is less irritated. It also does a wonderful job at removing my makeup at the end of the night. Will continue to use :)

My skin can be a nightmare in the winter. It gets red, dry, but yet is prone to break out. And some face washes will really cause it to flare up. My dermatologist recommended Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and I have been very happy with it. I have combination skin, even though it tends toward the drier side in the winter. My husband has oily skin. This product advertises that it is for all skin types and I agree. It is clean and soothing on my dry skin and also soothes and helps my husband's oily skin. It is also gentle enough and non scented so I can use it on my kids.

I have tried other sensitive skin cleansers when they have been on sale but I keep going back to Cetaphil because it leaves my skin feeling so soft. It keeps me from having skin flareups and it is a staple in our house.

I have mild rosacea, and have used this product for about 6 years. One bar lasts me about 2 years because I only use it once a day. It had been recommended by all the rosacea websites as the mildest one and until my current bar, I'd have rated it 5 stars.

However, after one week of using my new bar, my skin is itchy and irritated. Somewhere along the line they have started adding "masking fragrance." I contacted the company and they claim they have not changed the formula, but there's no way I could have been using it all these years and never noticed the perfume... it's the first thing I smell when I walk into the bathroom.

Anyway, I'm going to try the GENTLE SKIN CLEANSER which is truly fragrance free...for now. And I thought this information from the Cetaphil FAQ at their website is rather revealing:

Q. Is the Cetaphil® bar as mild as your liquid cleanser?

A. No, our bar was formulated to be milder than other bar cleansers, but it is not as mild as our liquid cleanser.

Q. What is the scent I smell in some of your lotions and creams?

A. What you smell in our lotions and creams is the normal scent of the chemicals in the formula without any masking fragrance. We are unable to mask this odor without making the formula harsher to your skin.
