Could not live without it,
By sango_kudo_umei_genwaku (Contention, USA) - See all my reviews I have used this twice a day, morning and night, for a good three years and it has dramatically improved my complexion. I believe this product to be a major factor in the number of compliments I've had on the quality of my skin. As for acne, I would likely still be a rather severe sufferer had I not been introduced to this product. That this cleanser has been able to [very nearly] banish my acne without any harsh chemicals or acids is worth the price of the seemingly expensive investment. It is worth every penny. Contrary to an earlier review, I find that it works very well (and gently) for removing eye makeup because of the sensitive nature of the skin surrounding the eyes. Carefully apply a fairly generous amount of the product and use a q-tip with a twisting motion to lift it away. I cannot say how well this works with foundations or concealers as, because of this product, I have no need for them. I simply cannot recommend this highly enough.

for those with seborrheic dermatitis,
I have a really nasty case with seborrheic dermatitis that has plagued me since I was in high school. Cetaphil is the ONLY thing that I can use on my face that doesn't cause intense flaking and acne breakouts (yes, I am lucky enough to get them BOTH!) There is the added bonus of the "without water" option which means I can use it in a pinch at work when I can feel a breakout coming on, and I even brought it on a camping trip where there was no running water-- I was the most popular girl at the campsite! We all had a fun trip and no one was stuck with oily skin for the weekend.

A gentle whole body skin cleanser,
By Pool Enthusiast (I am on the front porch reading The New York Times.) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) It is completely fragrance free. It goes on smooth and silky. It is great for all types of skin problems, because it is so gentle and nonirritating. It softens and moisturizes as it cleans. So, I don't even need to use a moisturizer on my face afterwards. I have roseacea and it actually feels good on my face.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST CLEANSER FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS BEAUTIFUL, HEALTHY, SOFT SKIN.,
By Janet D. "rock goddess" (Boston) - See all my reviews I HAVE EXTREMELY SENSITIVE SKIN, I WAS TOLD ABOUT THIS BY MY DERMATOLOGIST, AND HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR 7 YEARS NOW. MY SKIN IS BEAUTIFUL, AND WRINKLE FREE, I ALSO USE THE BODY LOTION. BEATS ALL THE PRICEY MALL PRODUCTS BY FAR. I LEARNED THE HARD WAY, PRICEY PRODUCTS ARE ALL A WASTE OF MONEY, IT'S WHATEVER WORKS FOR YOU. GIVE IT A TRY. THEY ALSO HAVE A FACIAL WASH FOR OILY SKIN, I HEAR IS GREAT ALSO

Caused allergic reaction,
By Honorary Brit (Oneida, NY United States) - See all my reviews The first night I used it to remove makeup (including mascara), I woke up at 4:00 a.m. with one of my eyes weeping. I had to flush it out with water. Later that morning I had a painful stye in the other eye. Since this is a gentle cleanser, I didn't think it could be the culprit; I stopped wearing eye makeup altogether thinking it might be contaminated. I used this cleanser again, this time completely avoiding the eye area, but both of my eyelids swelled up. One of them was swollen for several days. I stopped using the Cetaphil and returned to my old product, and the swelling has gone away. I haven't noticed any problems since I stopped using this product. I'm sure this is a good product for some, but there is something in this cleanser that I react negatively to. Since it is marketed as "gentle", that really perplexes me. Given my experience, I wouldn't use this on a baby as is recommended. I don't intend to steer people away from this product, but please don't assume that because it is considered "gentle" that you won't encounter issues with it.

Doesn't work for me, but maybe I'm just the anomaly,
By Gave it a go that night. The stuff did not foam, which is ok with me, but what was not ok was the smell. I hesitated to rub it on my face, then took the plunge. Felt immediate stinging, which was a bit of a shock. Washed it off, still continued to feel the stinging so I went over my face more thoroughly with my washcloth. My skin felt really irritated, and I was preplexed since Cetaphil is supposed to be so mild and gentle. Alas, the next mornign I woke up with two fresh, new lovely pimples on my cheeks (which incidentally was where I first applied the cleanser). Wasn't thinking and again washed with Cetaphil. The whole day, my coworkers kept asking if I was sick because my face was really red and flushed. That night I just washed with water, no soaps at all, and dabbed medication on my pimples. Guess what? My skin has improved since I stopped using Cetaphil. I am now using Purpose cleanser and my skin is ok. Just to check, I did try Cetaphil once again and woke up with a new pimple and flushed skin. So now that huge bottle of Cetaphil is just languishing away and taking up space in the medicine cabinet. I honestly do not know why it did not work for me. I've read rumors that Cetaphil contains SLS which is known to irritate some people's skin. That could very well be my case, but I know I use shampoos with SLS and they havent bothered me (then again I do not rub shampoo on my face...). Guess I am the one dissenter who does not like Cetaphil.

I was recommended by my dermatologist to use this a few years ago. I was skeptical because it doesn't say ANYWHERE on the bottle that it is for acne and that was the reason why I even went to the dermatologist. Well, it hasn't gotten rid of my acne but it sure does clean my skin well. I use this 2 times a day. Once in the morning and once before going to bed. To use it I splash some water on my face and use 1 pump of this cleanser and apply it all over my face and neck. I rinse off and then pat dry with a clean towel. I have noticed that this stuff doesn't make my face dry and it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, and also this stuff will take make up off. Waterproof mascara doesn't stand a chance against Cetaphil. I would recommend anyone to try this stuff out. Just don't expect it to clear up your acne like I did. Haha. I also like to pair this cleanser up with the Cetaphil Lotion.

Makes my skin so soft!,
This review is from: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, for All Skin Types, 8 oz. (Misc.)
Im in my 20's, i just recently started getting acne. Ive always had sensitive skin, But as ive gotten older my face seems to be getting more and more sensitive. I have very dry skin, so normal acne cleansers were WAY too harsh and drying. I know a few people with very sensitive skin that were pleased with this cleanser. So i decided to give this (and the lotion) a shot. It helped tremendously!!!! My skin is almost cleared up, and its so soft and smooth! I only have a few bumps and blemishes left, ive been using this a couple weeks and i hope it keeps going well!
