A kingdom for a tyrant! One minute Ceville is a tyrannical despot ruling over the kingdom of Faeryanis, and the next he's a prisoner in his own jail! All's well that ends well? Not likely! The hideously evil Basilius has deep, dark plans for Faeryanis, and he's already got the spells ready to summon demons to help him with his reign of terror. Ceville and Lilly travel the length and breadth of the kingdom in their efforts to stop the dastardly plan, with the support of an unbelievably vain knight named Ambrosius - but things soon turn out to be a lot tougher than they seemed! A wild and wacky adventure in the style of Monkey Island and Shrek!

4.0 out of 5 stars The best $9.00 game I've played, June 7, 2010

First I'm running this game on Windows 7 with no problems. I have been gaming since the days of Wizardry. I like role playing games and Adventures of the "Monkey Island" type. This is a lot like a "Monkey Island" game and if you listen to the dialog and search everywhere you should be able to finish the game without help. There are walkthroughs on the internet should you need one.

Things you need to put up with. Long startup times. The game creates a ton of saved games which slows down startup. What I did is before quitting I kept my personally named save game and the last machine saved game and deleted the others. It still has a long load time but I feel better about it. This is a VERY wordy game. Characters talk incessantly and sometimes you need to go through quite a bit of the conversation before you trigger the phrase you need to get beyond a certain point. The game does have ways to skip over cut scenes and individual pieces of dialog. It also has fast ways of moving around but they aren't redily apparent.

The game itself is fun and the story is well written and well worth the $[...].

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Game - and I found it quite a challenge, August 5, 2010

I loved this game even though I think I had to use a walkthrough more often than any game since "Myst" - and that was years ago. This is an adventure game where you find items and then have to use them in some way, including combining inventory items. I think one of the reasons I got stuck so often, compared to other games, is that this game is really one puzzling situation after another. Sometimes I knew what I needed to do (distract a guard) but it took me forever to figure out how to do it. To put this in context, I'm a casual middle-aged gamer, undoubtedly slow compared to the younger folks, but still loving using the little gray cells.

The game's voice acting is excellent and the dialouge hilarious. I really got a kick out of the conversations and the comments and the situations. If you get tired of the conversation, you just click to skip. The problem is, a couple times I skipped and missed an important point. The graphics are fun, too. Ceville is comically sarcastic and other characters include Ambrosius, a knight who likes nothing more than to compliment himself as he gazes in a mirror. It was such fun. The situations throughout the game are inventive and I think I can be excused for not figuring out some steps. I mean, putting celery in your ears to block out the noise - really!

I played on a PC XP with no problem.
I recommend the walkthrough on Gameboomers com if you need one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too many bugs, May 3, 2011

After seeing the game crash repeatedly when selecting "start new game" I decided to look up known bugs on google. There are too many to count, and even the company doesn't know how to fix them. They claim you need to install a bunch of other stuff that they somehow forgot to put on the disk, but say that stuff will come with the online download. It still has bugs. I'd be very cautious buying this
