...on CGI programming. Printed in 1996, this book presents issues, techniques, and code examples to go from tyro to trouper in as long as it takes to read and absorb the material.
The volume also serves as a reference, with appendices on CGI, HTML, SSI, and the libraries that the author created - including source. Sadly, the copy I purchased did not come with the CD-ROM, but it's absence was trivial in the light of the great price. The material may seem dated, but the basics of server-side web programming, application design, HTML, and Perl remain essentially the same. "CGI Developer's Guide" makes a great addition to the programmer's bookshelf.
