According to a legend, every 3000 years there's a powerful demon god called The Chojin who is said to unite the worlds of mankind, demons and man-beasts together to create a new world. A half-beast young man named Amano is sent to Earth searching for the one that could be possessed by the Chojin but could they stop this destructive yet sometimes wonderful god from creating chaos?

A complex and over the top animated horror fantasy from Japan! it's one of the most controversial movies of it's kind as it made a big wave in pornographic Japanese animation. The plot is a little confusing for some but it is a very nasty and graphic piece of animation with some cool animation, the movie is loaded with gore like eye ripping, mutilation, exploding heads, graphic sex, rape, bondage, masturbation, lesbianism, bisexuality and every excess around. I love how the movie has a H.P. Lovecraft meets "Hustler" and "Heavy Metal" feel to it, it all began as a trio of OAV movies in the Japanese video market then turned into one big full length animated feature that shocked audiences worldwide. Definitely not for all tastes but it's a aquired taste when viewing this quite good anime feature.

The DVD contains a great transfer of the film with some not to shabby extras like trailers to this and other Central Media anime, a quick guide at anime, WebConnex media, Comic preview and DVD sneak peeks as it also includes Japanese and English language but with no subtitles.

For any hardcore fans of Anime, this is a real tour-de-force of the genre. The vivid imagery, the thrills and chills of the storyline, and the sheer raw energy of it all is why, at its time of release, Urotsukidoji was a ground-breaker. True, there have been other great Anime releases (Akira, for one), but I strongly feel this particular selection best exemplifies the trademark characteristics of the style. Follow Amano Jyaku, his sister Megumi, Tatsuo Nagumo, and Akemi Ito as their lives become intertwined in a timeless dance of fate and circumstance. If you have not seen Urotsukidoji, you have not seen Anime at its finest. The non-stop action, the laughs, and the intersting storyline will keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you coming back for more. Plot twists unveil new surprises and keep the audience guessing. A word of caution, however: If you are the squeamish or prudish type, stay away from this video!! If you're a hardcore Anime fan and vivid graphic images in animation do not bother you, this is a must-see. By the way, this is one cartoon series that is definitely not for kids. Happy viewing!

This is the way Urotsukidoji was meant to be seen. If you are just a casual anime fan, I'd suggest buying the single video version. However, if you want the whole story, the "Perfect Collection" is what you need.
