Super comfortable, easy to clean, and they last and last and can take a beating!,

My first pair of Chaco's sandals was this style in the "Razz" color--which is the muted red print on the dark brown footbed.
OH..MY..Plantar Fasciitis Relief! I found these so comfy, so soothing to my troubled feet, that I ordered them in another sandal style (no toe wrap, black) and fell in love with those even more. This style, while nice and comfy, can be troublesome around the toe for some (and even me some days if I don't adjust the straps just so). These do keep your foot in place better than the other non-toe wrap style, but the others give the foot more flexibility. So, this style gets one star removed for that particular issue--the toe thing. Some people prefer the stability of the toe-wrap. I prefer the freedom and ability to "shrug" my toes in the other styles. I now have five pairs of these pricey sandals (OMIGOSH, how much I spent!) because they make my feet happy. These may not be sexy, but they are well-constructed, will last ages, can be cleaned after every use with a cleanser and sponge or an antibacterial gel (I sometimes use that with a sponge or cloth) and a shot of Lysol. (Yeah, I like my sandals CLEAN.) And it doesn't affect it. They keep right on striding. Walk in a soggy garden, through the rain, in the dirt. No matter. These clean up and keep going. With casual wear, these are my number one footwear now. Cool. Anti-fungal (for those with these issues, these let your feet BREATHE). Esy to care for. Fun in a kicky casual groove with jeans and leggings (bootcut, especially). And the company tries to be socially and eco-responsible. That's a plus. If you have plantar fasciitis, give these a try. These are the ONLY shoes I don't immediately kick off when I get home. :) Mir--with happy Chaco's feet NOTE: These run a bit large. I have them in both my normal size (10) and in one smaller(9), and I find I prefer the smaller size. It's up to how much "bumper room" you like for your feet. Strongly recommend you consider downsizing a size, and if you're between sizes (ie, you're 8.5), definitely size down to an 8, rather than up to a 9.

Sole Stability,
This review is from: Chaco Women's Z/2 UWP Sandal (Apparel)
This sandal has earned a position of tenure on my soles. It has even been approved by my podiatrist because it provides stability and good cushioning. It's a cool alternative to those Natural Balance tennis shoes. Alas, time for new shoes, so I'm ordering a new pair.

I really wanted to love these but...,

In the summer of 2008 I wanted to buy a comfortable, supportive sandal to wear on our trip to Disney World. I read a lot of reviews on Chacos and read about the technology behind the design. I was sure that Chacos would be a perfect choice and bought a pair for myself and my teenage daughter after being fitted by a REI salesperson. We both wore them to Disney and we both had problems right away. Both of us complained of pain in our big toe joints and we had problems with the strap tightening around the toe while we walked. At some point during the trip I had lost all the feeling in one big toe and had a deep indent where the strap was. It felt like when you get a shot of Novocain and your lip feels numb when you touch it. (I had no feeling at the tip of my toe for three months! And then it gradually got better during the fourth month.) My guess is that the strap damaged a nerve. During the summer of 2009 I wore the sandals again for short periods of time with no problem, so I decided to take them again to Disney with the intention of constantly checking the strap and keep it very loose around my toe. I was successful, but at the end of the first day my toe started to feel prickly. That's when I retired my Chacos and bought a pair of FitFlops which were extremely comfortable and gave me no problems for the rest of the week. My daughter ended up giving up her Chacos also. She felt they were very uncomfortable and ended up buying another sandal at Disney that worked well. We really wanted to like our Chacos and gave them a good chance. Unfortunately they didn't work for us.

chaco's are my favorite and only outdoors shoes,

i bought these shoes immediately after seeing a friend with a pair on. i could tell that they were perfect for me and my need for an outdoor shoe. i am a mother with active sons so these have proven to be perfect.
what is so amazing for me is that i have big (size 11.5) and sensitive feet. i have bought other shoes and my toes got corns and my feet were sore all of the time. i started using danksos and those worked like a charm to bring health back to my feet. but i needed a comfortable pair of outdoor shoes. these chacos are my main pair of shoes for this summer. i also teach water aerobics and wear these to stay cool and comfortable. i have heard others who have these shoes say that they are on their third or fourth summer of wearing their chacos and they are still going strong. buy these shoes for great comfort. and just to keep it real, it took a few weeks for me to get comfortable with that loop around my toe. but now i am totally used to it and know how to adjust the straps to keep me feeling perfect in my chacos.

Not Wide Enough,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Chaco Women's Z/2 UWP Sandal (Apparel)
My sandals arrived quickly and in good condition.
The only problem was that they weren't wide enough, despite being a "wide" size (9W). The ridges on the sides of the heel ended up kind of digging into my feet. It's hard to find shoes that fit well without trying them on first, so I wasn't too surprised. The return was easy although I did lose the shipping money (just a few dollars).

I love Chacos! These are my second pair. My first pair lasted me four years. I bought another pair almost exactly like the first ones. They came by mail very quickly and were in perfect condition. Chacos rock!!

I purchased these for my daughter to wear at summer camp where she is a counselor. She loves them. She goes from canoes to hiking to horseback riding and never has to change her shoes. We ordered a half size smaller than what she wears in a sneakers because the sandals only come in whole sizes but they fit great. I would recommend for anyone that wants a comfortable shoe for the summer.
