wonderful fit!,
This review is from: Chaco Women's Zong Sandal (Apparel)
I just bought my 2nd pair of this style today. I love these sandals. They travel well, walk well, are used on trails and in the shower on trips. The strap system keeps your foot in the foot bed, no sliding. I would not do strenuous trail hiking in them. The arch is terrific and I can walk all day and my feet DO NOT hurt. I have plantar fascitis and these sandals have kept me pain free because of the arch.

I love them, but they don't love me.,

I have a love/hate relationship with these shoes. I've wanted a pair for a long time, and was disappointed when I finally indulged. I have a problem with the straps tightening around my big toe as I walk. Chaco, however, is sending me a new pair in a different style for free to replace them. Apparently, this happens to some people because of the way they walk, so they are very accomodating in replacing the shoes with a style that doesn't wrap around the toe. Way to go, Chaco! That's customer service! I did wear them backpacking in Europe and they were great. The style is great because you wear them with pants, shorts, or skirts/dresses and they go with everything. I am looking forward to my new ones and am hoping to have a better relationship with them.

Mixed Feelings,
By
This review is from: Chaco Women's Zong Sandal (Apparel)
My first few "dates" with these Chacos didn't go so well... I ended up with blisters on the top of my feet and the straps on the top of my foot loosened while walking, causing the toe loop to tighten (I have since "solved" this problem by flattening the toe loop)... not so pleasant. As much time as I have spent in denial and then in acceptance of the somewhat poor design I am now in love with them (maybe because they leave you with cool tan lines???).
If this is your first pair of Chacos, I'd suggest trying them on at a store before purchasing them online and fit 'em to your arch... you'll be much happier. I'd also suggest trying a different style first, maybe one with a heal strap, or w/out the toe loop.

Great Shortcut for a full chaco sandal,
By

I love the Zong because I am a kayaker and this shoe stays on when you fall in the water. The toe strap really keeps the sandal on your foot. It takes a bit of adjusting and wearing to get the toe loop just right so don't freak out at first when you try them on if it feels a little tight or uncomfortable. Either you love the toe loop or you don't! This is a shortcut shoe to buying a full out chaco sandal with a backstrap. Great way to try their product out at a lower price point and see what you think. I'm a chaco addict hooked for life, have 7 pairs. Great grip on the bottom and great water summer shoe. They are not a slip on, keep that in mind! They are also not a slip off. :)

Purple Toe,

This review is from: Chaco Women's Zong Sandal (Apparel)
Per the instructions, I adjusted the Zong straps to fit my feet. However, after walking in them for a few minutes, the straps started to move and tighten in all the wrong places. My big toe began to turn purple! No matter how many times I adjusted the sandals, the straps unraveled again and again. I really wanted to like these sandals, but for an active sandal, they aren't very functional. I have another pair of Chaco sandals that are great...these just don't do it for me.

Best shoe ever !,

I absolutely LOVE these Zongs ! They fit perfectly, they take away any heel pain you might have, the straps adjust, but also stay put. An ingenious system ! They are absolutely NOT clunky, and they stay on without having to do a "toe curl" or anything. JUST PERFECT, I will buy more of this style. Thanks to Amazon for having them at a discounted price.

Straps don't stay put,
This review is from: Chaco Women's Zong Sandal (Apparel)
These are just about the worst shoes I've ever owned. I get them adjusted just so, then the straps tighten up and pinch my big toe. My feet don't sit on the footbed properly because the straps don't stay put, so I get a cramp in my foot if I wear them for a long time. I love Chaco shoes, but these are just awful.

chaco zong sandle,
By Birdie (Maryland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Chaco Women's Zong Sandal (Apparel)
Previous zong-like sandal from chaco lasted 6 years, fit like a glove, could wear with skirts, or on the trail. The newer version's straps are too thin, and not as comfortable; the straps slip out of place with just a little wear.

Love chacos, but not a good fit,
This review is from: Chaco Women's Zong Sandal (Apparel)
I've absolutely loved my chacos in the past, but these weren't my favorite.
Apparently my feet are not shaped for these shoes. The toe strap tightens, which I'm used to, but so does one of the cross-foot straps, and that hurt. I think if you walk differently they wouldn't hurt like that. Good for some, bad for others.

Ok....so I know many people who love thier Chaco's. I want to love them...really I do, but theses suckers cut the circulation off in my toe. The straps are adjustable, but they keep cinching toooooo tight on my toe. The arch support is awesome, but the pinching in the toe is hard to ignore. My recomendation is to stay away from the styles with toe holes. Sorry Chaco...the Zong is a no-go! but the flip flops are awesome!
