The product is stiff yet flexible, I have a good feeling that it will last years in the sun without breaking. I would like them longer but they do extend far enough past a typical chain link fence post to function w/o grounding out. On my fence, which is probably 30 years old, the pole was to the inside of my yard and there were many spots on my old fence that I had to snug the chain fence up against the posts so the charged wire would not hit the post. If you are connecting these to chain link instead of U posts, attach them near the vertical posts to ensure the slack between insulators do not hit the post. I really like the cross beam in the center of the insulator, I was able to tie a stabilizing wire to it for my first insulator to keep it straight. I was also able to use the insulator at corners. They went on pretty easy for me and I think most people shouldn't have any issues installing them.

I already had an electric fence around the inside perimeter of a large dog run which has worked perfectly for 2 or 3 years, but with cold weather, we keep the dogs in the house. When we let them out to potty, my boxer would sneak off and go under the fence in the back yard, which is why I bought these to extend the fence into my back yard. My boxer snuck over to his favorite spot to get out of the fence today and HE DID NOT GET OUT!! As an added bonus he didn't yelp either so I guess the existing fence in his dog run trained him to stay away from the wires. In hindsight, I probably could have left this fence disconnected from the charger and just bluffed him with a dead wire.

These work perfectly for attaching electric wire to chain link fences, I have had these insulator's attached for over 2 months now and they are still as secure as the first day I installed them. They keep the electric wire extended out from the posts and chain link so there is no contact with the hot-wire and the fence. I was very happy with this purchase.

If you have chain link fence but don't have a sturdy top pipe running along it to attach your electric fence
holder/insulators, these are for you. They snap into the actual squares of the chain linking itself. They snap in very solidly and will not come out, even with leaning or tugging on them hard. After that, feeding the wire through them was a snap.

I purchased these and have been using them for some time now. They were easy to install and have held in place without any breaking or deterioration. I installed them on my chain link fence to keep my dogs from getting out.
