Pre-ordered the book and carry it in my crochet bag all the time. Have tried using the on-line links for chain-free or foundation stitches but could never quite get the hang of them. This book makes it easy to understand and easy to do. As I said to my on-line crochet group: LOVE THIS BOOK!
It also contains some very nice patterns, most of which are not my 'cup of tea' to make but the book is well worth the price regardless.

Chain-Free Crochet deals with the problem of beginning a crochet project with a chain. It offers several alternative types of stitches to begin, depending on the need. With each particular style of beginning stitch, it offers a project using it. The projects are generally attractive, although the color choices for the book didn't attract me, kind of orange and taupe. The book is well worth the price for the numerous stitches you learn.
