Keep This Chain Letter In Circulation [4 Stars],

This review is from: Chain Letters (Audio CD)
The first thing that jumps out about this album is the fact that Supastition finally has production that will do his unique flow justice. Supa takes his listeners on a journey through everyday life with lyrics that are heartfelt and earnest. Whether he's asking his ex-girlfriend to take him back or recounting his journey to get signed you'll feel like you're standing right there with him through it all. With help from beatsmiths like Illmind, Nicolay, Jake One, Madwreck, and M-Phazes, the production has more meat for Supa to sink his teeth into this time around. Chain Letters is a nod to the true school while progressive in its attempt to return hip hop to its golden roots. Guests include Little Brother, Nonameko, D Minor, Seven, and Can Tell
Standout Tracks: Ain't Goin' Out (Like That), That Ain't Me, Split Decisions, 100% (My Favorite), Soul Control feat. Little Brother, Appreciation, Rise, A Baby Story feat. Nonameko, Special Treatment, and Don't Stop

GREAT ALBUM! Supastition is such a talented lyricist that basically nobody seems to really know anything about...hes basically backed by his backyard producer M-phazes...and together they come up with some pretty worthwhile music to listen to. The seemingly endless variety of samples and near-flawless production for each track makes this album worth the buy. Supastition's lyricism on top of the M-phazes clean tracks make for a great album. This was a perfect follow-up, solo album to "Deadline"...I would give this a 4.5 if I could.

This black cat should have many an M.C. afraid to cross his path. Supa is a force to be reckend with and I haven't heard another like him since Chino XL. Sharp with the lyrics and on point with the flows, excellent storytelling based on true life stuff holding back no punches, and He makes the difference in Hip Hop without flaw with the preservation of old school style beats. You almost feel like You were there as things happen when He tells it in verse like in the track "The Baby Song." Talks about how one of the homies loves his ride so much that He loses the value of the people around him including his loved ones. I don't wanna spoil the suprise, You just need to hear and feel it for yourself. Producers ILLmind, M-Phases, Madwreck, Jake 1, and of course, Nicolay bang out the sound sources to create this classic album naturally! Nothing is forced as some solid guest appearences from, few but enough, artists like DMinor, Nonameko (no-yaim-ko), and Can'tell on the vocal hook tip with a-alike Seven and Little Brother on the lyrics tip (and Big Pooh is tight for them internet-haters who know who they are...) Supa has, more than once, proven that He can hold his own on the mic. I have both albums and the EP, "Deadline," and the weakest link of the three was the first because some of the beats were not hittin'. That's all over now and Sup lets it be known on the tightest intro of all intros to date. I can go on reviewing this CD all night, but I'll conclude and say no matter what kind of rap music You listen to, BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!!! It's money well spent because I let one of my dawgs check it, and he listens to R&B, crunk and Playa anthem joints. Sold! I'm gone...
