Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

When Cedar Branch, Idaho, is devastated by what is purported to be a nuclear transportation accident, Mia, the lone survivor, finds herself secured for mysterious reasons by the CIA. When Nicholas Price from Homeland Security is abruptly pulled off the case, he springs Mia, and they go off on an "unsupported" investigation of their own, which ultimately leads to the highest levels of government and a secret bioterror weapons-development facility. While Mia copes with her grief over the deaths of her friends, she learns of Nick's suffering over his sister, and the two fall hard for each other. With nonstop action interspersed with a slow unveiling of clues and great sex scenes, debut romance author Davis has created a wonderful genre-blend of thriller, suspense, and sexual tension. Readers will hope for more from this talented newcomer. Mary K. Chelton

5.0 out of 5 stars chain reaction, June 23, 2007
This review is from: Chain Reaction (Mass Market Paperback)
Mia Kearney lives in a small town called Cedar Branch, Idaho.
The town is small with only a few residents, but the ones that live there are all like family to Mia.

While working on a art assigment in her basement there is an explosion that kills everyone in town except Mia is the sole survivor.

Mia wakes to find herself in a facility that has guards at the door, and she can't remember what happened to her.

Nick Price, from Homeland Security is sent to talk to Mia. They think that since she is the only survivor she must have set the blast.

But things are not adding up in Nick's mind. Mia remembers nothing and she is horrified to find out all her friends are dead.

Nick thinks there is more to it than the government wanting to study Mia.

Mia finally escapes as Nick is taken off the case.

Should he believe her, or was she involved? He has to have answers.

Nick finds Mia and the two go on an adventure that will keep the reader unable to put the book down.

Very fast paced book, with romance throwed in.

Great Book!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of tension and breathtaking action!, August 24, 2007

This review is from: Chain Reaction (Mass Market Paperback)
Mia Kearney awakes in a lab with no memory only to find out that she is the sole survivor of a nuclear accident. Her small Idaho town was wiped out and now an agent with Homeland Security is questioning how she managed to survive. When the CIA decides they want to take over the investigation, agent Nick Price wonders if there is not more to the story. When he sees Mia flee, he gives Chase and goes on the run with her to try to figure out who was behind the "accident" and whatever else they are trying to cover up. Romance blossoms between the two as they set out to uncover a plot that conspiracy theorists will jump on.

Davis combines plenty of breathtaking action and interesting plot twists to tell a pretty timely story. She holds nothing back - including the townspeople's harrowing and painful last breaths. Great dialog, great action, great chemistry... great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book, June 3, 2007
This review is from: Chain Reaction (Mass Market Paperback)
I had never read a book by Dee Davis and this one was a great book filled with two main characters Mia and Nick you just can't help but route for lots of sexual tension and chemistry and some humor mixed in as well and the background for the story which I won't give away was also refreshing.

I can't wait to read the rest of this authors books.
