This review is from: Chain Reaction (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
Gage Darnell's world was rocked by a chemical explosion. And he was supposed to be home for dinner.

His partner Brayden Sloane just disappeared after the explosion.
Gage and Wes Vanderhoven ended up in the same mental hospital, Beech Grove. Gage found himself in leather restraints and being given knock-out shots. It was a week before his mind cleared enough for him to start questioning what was happening. He felt like an 80 year-old-man instead of 32.

He was desperate to escape before anything happened -- he found that he had able to loosen the leather shackles and he finally found the physical strength to take off. The only one to see him leave was Tucker Hillman.
He bound and gaged the man and left him in a closet.

He had to find his wife Lily and save his marriage.
When he heard of Hillman's death he knew the cops were after him. He had left the man alive.

Hank Riddell worked for Cranesbrook Labs., why was he at Beech Grove. Was he a watch dog for Dr. Morton? Or Cranesbrook? Was Dr. Fredrick Morton being paid to hold Gage captive?

Would Randall McClellan and his partner, Richard Francis, a family man, get the proof that Gage had killed Hillman?
Officer Maxine Wallace, of the local police, felt that something about the murder scene was not right and told Rand so.
When Richard Francis got shot, Gage was blamed for that too.

What did Sid Edmonston, the Cranesbrook president, have to hide?
And what experiment was Nelson Ulrich conducting in Lab 7 when it blew?
Gage wondered what was happening to his mind. All he knew was that he couldn't get caught until he could prove he was not a murderer.

This is one of the best mystery trilogys that I have read.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Hard to put down - have to keep reading just a little more to find the answers to the recurring questions. Would Gage get caught? Wow, no time for a breather.
#2 Critical Exposure by Ann Voss Peterson - Rand McClellan
#3 Triggered Response by Patricia Rosemoor - Bray Sloane
