Purchased this vinyl LP on a whim, I've never been a fan....but what a surprise, I have all most worn it out playing it since!Song after song of beautiful harmonies, warm soulful music, just brilliant.

If you liked Whispering Jack,as I do...this is as close as it gets.He again gets help from his bandmate and guitarist extroadinaire Brett Garsed.Farnhams voice is strong on this cd.And it doesnt sound like theyre shooting for the elevator to get played in,like some of his other albums.My 2nd fav Farnsey cd

A Very Strong Album for Farnham,

John Farnham is indeed Australia's greatest music pop asset and is a great gentleman on stage and off. He is an all-round nice guy and its good to see sometimes nice guys finishing their careers on a high. Going solo is always fraught with its dangers, however Farnsie has reached his momentous heights simply just being himself. And it defines this CD. From 'That's Freedom' to 'See The Banners Fall' (a great song) to the very good beat of 'Chain Reaction', this album has it all for any Johnny fan.

I'm a huge fan of John Farnham and CHAIN REACTION certainly utilizes his vocal mastery. I would have been happier for a little more diversity in the material, however. A majority of the songs are anthemic, "message" tunes that tend to sound alike, thematically and musically. They're all competently performed and the guitar work is awesome so I can forgive them!The album's highlight is the beautiful BURN FOR YOU, one of John's best performances. With its sparse musical accompaniment and the passionate vocal, it demonstrates why Farnham achieved his legendary status. The other tracks are entertaining and good anthems---it's a good album overall.

I am a homesick Australian living in the States and John Farnham brings a smile to my face and a warm glow to my heart. He is one of Australia's best kept secrets and assets. Anyone from any generation will fall in love with his music and style. He is unique, modest and a must have on your music shelf. John Farnham is adored by Australians and I would recommend the rest of the world to introduce him to their lives and share in our treats.
