I have been waiting for this book since I finished the 3rd in Christina Dodd's The Chosen series. Book 4, Chains of Fire, did not disappoint. This book picks up smoothly from Chains of Ice. I love the way Christina Dodd just weaves all the magic together in a fabulous story.

Chains of Fire is the story of Samuel Faa and Isabelle Mason. If you've been reading the series then you know that Samuel is the snarky attorney, the reluctant member of the Chosen. Isabelle Mason is the socialite. They've known each other since childhood where they were each adopted in the same household; Isabelle by the matron of the house, Samuel by the butler.

Dodd is ever the master story teller and Chains of Fire leaves you hanging for more, more, more. I read this book in 2 days. I could not put it down. Between rescuing a kidnapped child, being trapped under an avalanche, and meeting with the physical embodiment of Satan, Samuel and Isabelle finally figure out how to truly love one another. And through their sacrifice for each other, their powers have grown.

Now I'm waiting for book 5 in the series. I can't wait! This book goes straight to the top of my Books in the Pile.Chains of Fire: The Chosen Ones

#1 HALL OF FAMEon September 11, 2010

Both are Chosen Ones. They have worked together on missions and had an affair that ended nasty with unfulfilled need. Each has learned now to never mix business and pleasure especially between a Gypsy and a socialite though they have known each for the longest time.

Lawyer and mind-control expert Samuel Faa and healer Isabelle Mason remain angry with one another and especially their selves although each also remains attracted to each other. In Switzerland they bury their feelings in order to unfreeze the Gypsy Travel Agency funds, but also rescue a kidnapped child who was abducted by the Others as an expendable pawn to kill the two Chosen Ones in a man-made avalanche. The ploy works to a point as Samuel and Isabelle are trapped inside the ruins of a castle with a ton of ice burying them and the edifice; and the enemy patiently waits to insure the job is done.

The latest Chosen Ones urban fantasy (see Chains of Ice, Storm of Visions and Storm of Shadows) is a superb romantic suspense thriller. The lead couple is a dynamic pairing as they have a long volatile history (told by Christina Dodd in flashbacks). Even with their past interwoven throughout the tale, Chains of Fire is an exhilarating entry as Samuel and Isabelle are trapped under a ton of rocks and under the even heavier burden of their love.

The battle is good versus evil.

Christina Dodd has a shapeshifter series that this is a spinoff of but I love the powers she has come up with for the characters of The Chosen and the situations that tests their skills.

This particular romance has a lot of history behind it. This couple was on again off again and the hero thinks this is his chance to seduce the heroine and keep her. Neither has stopped loving the other one. The very ending had me a little perplexed because it seemed like if they had just talked things out about the details of their breakup in the beginning it would have worked out.

Overall I had a good feeling when I was done with the book and enjoyed it.

I believe that this is the best of a good series. The maturity that has come with these characters culminates in this story. Charisma and alexsandrer's story not with standing the others also show a development that allows this story to happen. It would not have been real with out it. I started it and did not put it down till it was finished. Enjoy

I loved this installment in the Chosen series by Christina Dodd. I couldn't wait to read this book about Samuel and Issabelle. We learn about their past while they are "buried" in the bottom of an abandoned castle after an avelanche strikes. I too was under the impression that this was the final book in the series but I just can't believe that Ms. Dodd would leave us hanging like this because there is quite the cliffhanger at the end. This book I rated 5 stars because it was the best in the series thus far and hot, hot hot.

"Chains of Fire" is the fourth installment of Christina Dodd's new series of "The Chosen Ones".

Samuel Faa is a "Chosen" with the power to control minds. He has not had an easy life and has had to struggle for what he has. Isabelle Mason is a "Chosen" with the gift of healing. Isabelle was raised with wealth and privilege. But what the others in the group do not know is that their past is filled with love and betrayal.

Let me say how excited I was to finally be able to read Samuel & Isabelle's story! I was so drawn to their characters when we were first introduced to them in "Storm of Visions". You could feel the tension and chemistry between them - but you didn't know why it existed. Their journey was by far the most extreme.

I am not one for spoilers - I believe that one should find out about a book as the author intended... one page at a time. I never read the last few pages of a book first and I pride myself on that. I love suspense and it is wonderful to find yourself holding your breathe when an intense part happens. So when I say that I was actually TEMPTED to see how this story ended before I finished it.... That should tell you just how involved I got! LOL

"Chains of Fire" was the most intense of the books so far. The battle between good and evil is at an all time HIGH and the stakes keep getting bigger! I absolutely LOVED this book! I cannot WAIT to see where Christina takes us next!!!!
