PreSchool-Grade 1 - As this sequel to "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" begins, Baby Bear is asking his father about fixing his chair. Papa Bear announces that they will head to Bear Town to look for a new one, and, as they walk, the youngster comes up with imaginative ideas about the perfect piece of furniture: maybe a Robin Hood chair, a pirate chair, or a king's chair? Alas, none of the seats at the store is quite right - too scratchy, too scary, or too large. At the end of this long and disappointing day, Baby Bear returns home to find a package from Goldilocks; it contains a little red bear chair that is just right. Warm and colorful watercolors are a perfect accompaniment to the narrative. Fisher's addition of two fun-loving mice that share in Baby Bear's journey adds a touch of whimsy to the story. The text moves in, around, and sometimes over the illustrations, making them an integral part of the action. This lighthearted continuation of a well-known tale is just right for storytime or one-on-one sharing.

Chris Fisher’s vibrant and amusing illustrations have appeared in more than 60 books since 1990, when his first book was published. He has collaborated on several award-winning children’s books published in the United Kingdom. He lives in Bristol, England.
