5.0 out of 5 stars An Exercise Program That Leaves You Feeling Good
I didn't have high expectations of a seated exercise program. How vigorous could it be? More importantly, how helpful would it be? But physical problems prevent me from standard exercise, and the home exercises given me by medical professionals are repetitious, leaving me easily distracted. I wanted to try something guided, yet right for me.

2.0 out of 5 stars exercise for disabilities
This is not a great product, I know the man tried hard to convey to people with disabilities that this would help them. But he spoke in a monotone, so did not display much energy. I guess it was ok maybe for people who are not on the same disabled level as I am.

Bob Klein's Chair Exercises for Seniors is excellent. The few exercises he demonstrates which I am unable to do because of my conditions are easily modified to be doable for me. I feel relaxed, strengthened, and at peace after going through this DVD routine. Just watching it, it does seem it would too mild to be helpful. But go along with it and do the exercises; you will be amazed how good you feel.

I recommend this DVD for anyone who has trouble doing exercise routines that require standing or lying on the floor, especially if you don't have easy access to a swim pool for water exercises, but you still want to stay flexible and have reduced pain.

5.0 out of 5 stars What is in this video., May 11, 2004
This review is from: Chair Exercises for Seniors (DVD)
Description of video by Producer. Zookinesis is an ancient Chinese system of mild exercise designed to bring youthful vitality back to the body. This DVD provides exercises from a seated position, specifically designed for seniors. It works on all parts of the body, restoring muscle tone and strength, joint strength and flexibility as well as improved breathing and concentration.
These exercises also keep the connective tissue flexible so it doesn't shrink and constrict the body's organs. Connective tissue surrounds all the organs and bones, forming a springy network to keep the body young. As you age, the shrinking of this tissue can hinder the function of those organs, unless you do an exercise like Zookinesis.
Zookinesis is related to Tai-chi, Chi-Gung and Chinese Yoga. You can do the entire session or just fifteen minutes at a time. The DVD is 45 minutes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Zookinesis chair exercises for seniors, August 9, 2006
This review is from: Chair Exercises for Seniors (DVD)
I think it is a very good tape and especially good for me as I need to continue my cardiovascular work while having a broken ankle. I wish the upper body exercises were more strenuous, but I know that is not practical, considering that most seniors should not exert themselves unnecessarily. I remember that Bob Klein suggested that we could go at our own pace.

Excellent! I have COPD and find this to be one of the best exercise programs I have been able to find. If you must sit to exercise this is a must have!

I wanted to get back into exercising. It is very difficult to find wheelchair exercises on DVD. Amazon had several of them and since I've been doing them I am alot less fatiguied and stronger.

This program is challenging, a good workout, and has the flexibility to improve the workout with heavier weights and still keep up.

I found this DVD very informative for teaching seniors who exercise in a chair. The movements are different than those I was doing and I really needed some new ideas. Thanks

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for seniors, January 27, 2008

This is a great dvd for all ages but has been really good for my 91 year old mother who recently suffered a stroke. What's really good is that it incorporates the use of a chair with arms that so many seniors require, the arms of a chair, to help them get up. This was the only dvd I found with that feature. I would recommend that it be close captioned as many seniors have hearing loss issues as well. I enjoy doing this with my mom and so does my husband.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bob Klein's "Chair Exercises for Seniors", October 20, 2008
This review is from: Chair Exercises for Seniors (DVD)
The exercises appear ordinary, yet they bring great results! It helps reduce my lower back pain and leg problem after a recent car accident. His voice is calm and clear. This exercise not only helps your body but also calms your mind. It's a great supplement to the regular physical therapy sessions but only cheaper. Being pain free is priceless! Thank you Bob!
