Six weeks ago I decided that the pain from my osteoarthritic hip and back had become too much to bear. I felt that my body needed authentic healing beyond pain killers or surgery. I had read that yoga is an excellent treatment for arthritis, but how could I do yoga as crippled as I was? John's approach has become my answer. His gentle, immediately engaging instruction takes the student clearly and concisely through techniques of breathing, meditation and movement that have the combined effect of gradually freeing the joints, reducing pain, increasing strength and lightening the spirit. Because of such noticeable improvement in my own condition, I am gaining confidence that I might be able to work toward actually healing a condition that is normally described as degenerative. I highly recommend John's program for anyone at all - and particularly for those who feel weak, confined or hopeless because of their age or disability. Many of the routines are suitable even if you are confined to a wheelchair. Whatever your limitations are, I'm confident that you will derive great benefit both physically and emotionally from these excellent DVD's.

I have wanted to try yoga for years but I have too many physical limitations. Then I discovered John's Ageless Yoga videos. After only three 1/2 hour sessions my body feels better than it has in years. My chiropractor said that my adjustment has never been easier! I am making chair yoga a regular part of my self-care routine. With the different length programs I know that I'll always have time for at least some small part. Just make sure that you have time to relax afterwards. The only other activity that leaves me this relaxed is hypnosis. ;)

I was introduced to John Schlorholtz' yoga through a friend and though I had tried yoga when I was in my thirties, now in my mid seventies with a lower back problem, I was somewhat skeptical. However, after using Ageless Yoga DVDs: Chair, Floor & Standing Routines for several years I am delighted with the results. Now at 78 I feel so much more flexible & totally free from my lower back pain. I have abundant energy & good balance. Friends enjoy receiving the 2 vol. sets as gifts & I bring my own DVDs with me when I travel to keep limber. I am grateful for having discovered them and they have my highest recommendation.

I've been struggling for a long time to get back into a regular exercise program, and this has become my entry point. I'm in my early 60s and working to regain strength and flexibility. I've been doing these exercises for several weeks, intersperced with light weight training (DVDs from a different source) on some days. Even on those days, I often finish with a stretching routine from this DVD.
This DVD is set up so that you can choose from programs of different lengths, and in different combinations, for stretching, joint work, etc. On day when I have more energy, I do longer routines; if not, I choose a shorter one. Either way, I'm always happy I spent the time. Mr. Schlorholtz explains everything clearly, moves at a pace I can handle, and in general makes the whole experience pleasant and enjoyable.

I have found this set of DVDs by John Schlorholtz to be easy to use, and I have enjoyed the varied experiences offered. With the real life students and the teacher's style of instruction these DVDs are pleasurable, and they also have been most beneficial to support getting my strength back and healing. Visiting friends and family new to yoga have joined me in practicing with the DVDs and have been surprised by how good they have felt as a result. It has been a treat to share this set and the accompanying results with those I care about. Thank you!

I became acquainted with John Schlorholtz's yoga DVDs when I had a broken ankle a couple of years ago. I found them to be great for healing, and they introduced me to regular yoga exercise. Schlorholtz has arranged the routines on the disk to provide many different options in level of exercise and time commitment needed to complete the routines. Doing them regularly has been very beneficial in terms of general health and flexibility. By creating your own customized program of routines, you really can find an individual, progressive path from gentle beginner exercises (where I was when I broke my ankle) to more challenging levels. I recommend these DVDs highly.

I have been using John's DVDs several times each week for almost two years. As a 53-year-old woman with an average fitness level and no significant physical limitations, the DVDs have been wonderful for increasing my flexibility and over-all feeling of well-being. They are easy to use and to tailor for different workouts on different days. I have even found the chair DVD good for hotel rooms where I really don't want to get down on the carpet. John's approach is very accessible to persons new to yoga and for those who want a more "gentle" approach--both toward mind and body. I would highly recommend both DVDs.

This is the best yoga dvd that I have come across. It is unpretentious in its presentation - no svelte girls or buffed guys all decked out and super fit - just your average,every day kind of people of all ages. Very down to earth and I for one can relate to this. The exercises are "just what the doctor ordered", and I will be able to do these all throughout my life. I highly recommend this - especially to the baby boomers. Thank you.

The chair yoga is certainly easy to do. With my back problems I found that it can be a sufficient enough workout to cause some residual discomfort (pain). What really surprised me was that the routine is very much like what the arthritis foundation teaches with the biggest difference being that the yoga routine is smoother and more fluid in transition from one action to the next. A brief meditation is added on to the end of the routine. I wanted a chair program because of my back so it works well for this. I may have prefered more meditation with it. Start with meditation for centering, maintain mindfulness during movements, end with closing meditation.
