Is that a typo? I've only ever seen it written Chaise Lounge, but every time it's written in this book it's longue.

Chaise longue (literally "long chair" in French), is the original spelling and meaning, pronounced more or less "shayz long." Since most of us in the US don't speak French, the chaise longue has metamorphosed into some sort of lounge chair that you chase around the room :)
