Chakra Chants contains seven tracks, each corresponding to one of the chakra points on the human body. Starting with the base chakra and ending with the crown chakra, it is a deeply moving piece of music suitable as a meditation tool, for cleansing and balancing your energy body or just for sheer listening pleasure.

The high quality booklet discusses the subtle body, the chakras and the principles of sonic healing. Each track is made up of the appropriate vowel sound, a bija mantra, an elemental and/or shabd sound and a particular keynote. A thorough and easy-to-practice guided visualization and an explanation of overtones are also provided in the booklet.

Overtones or harmonics are geometric multiples of the first note and represent the "colour" of sound. The human voice harmonics heard here add a deep emotional resonance to the sound. The voices are those of Goldman, Rabbi Shefa Gold, Gwen Tuesday and Lauren Cuggino, and all the instruments are authentic, i.e. no computerized sounds are used.

The result amply rewards the listener in glorious wave upon wave of swirling, uplifting joy. This is a true masterpiece that invites repeated listening and might serve as the ideal soundtrack to various holistic healing practices. Finally, Donald Beaman's cover art combines the Shri Yantra symbol with a square mandala and the human form in a most magnificent way. Chakra Chants is sublime; I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Other recommended works by Goldman include Ultimate Om (the `rolling' Om with overtones) and Holy Harmony which blends a vocal chant with tuning forks attuned to specific healing frequencies.

I wouldn't have believed it, if I hadn't experienced this cd myself. The sounds seem to be in tune with some very deep level of energy. I have listened to this while meditating, but beware if you lie down and close your eyes you may fall asleep it is so relaxing. Besides meditating it helps with insomnia and also puts my 2 year old granddaughter right to sleep.

I would highly recommend this for yoga practice and meditation, it is the best I have experienced.

Sacred healing sound at its best by a professional with over two decades of experience as a writer, teacher and musician. The album may be played to promote and accelerate healing; I use it in my Reiki healing practice and notice a significant elevation in energy. Bliss!

I can't say this CD does anything for my chakras but it does take me on a powerful inner meditation trip. Each track is essentially the root tone of one of the chakras starting with Muladhara and going up, seven minutes or so on each chakra. Deep, swelling sound and voice overlays keep things moving, but always within the chakra's root tone. Though I typically meditate in silence, this CD offers another unique and enjoyable way to meditate.

I have been into the realisation of different kind of yogic teachings from Kyria to Kundalini. Mr.J. Goldman Chakra Chants is filled with an understanding of the different planes of existence as he takes one into the 7 different energy levels. What I like is, he carefully used the frequencies with its resonance, values applicable to such and the harmonics is filled with a natural fragrance of experience. From the moment i put the CD on i experience transcendence states of my conscious being. The balance is unique with a deep understanding of Vedic laws.

My Hats off to Mr.Jonathan Goldman and his associates for such a powerful CD incorporating so many estoric teachings that will take more than this synopsis to express my sincere gratitude and love...Many More Blessings

I have used the entire CD as a recharge meditation, from 1st to higher chakras . If you're not familiar with the chakra system, get the CD and play with breathing slowly, relaxing each body part from your toes to the crown of your head. Goldman intertwines the core sounds from Tibet with flowing rhythms and harmonies that westerners can access. I love this CD!

I love this cd for a very personal reason: I gave birth listening to it on "repeat" for about 12 hours. The chants were excellent during labor because they helped me tune in to my body and meet the challenge of labor pain with reverence and determination. This cd really sustained me! And I imagine it has a very special place in my son's life, too, as it is the first thing he heard.

Ok so I bought this on a whim because I felt that I needed help meditating, and working with my chackras. First to describe the Music... It is rythmic chanting over and over. The deepest is the vowel sound associated with the chackra and with a lighter overtone of another chant... so for instances the Base chackra is UUUUUMMM UUUUUMMM (deep and very low) over and over with I think a RRRRRAAAAAAAmm sound that swooshes over it. And DEEP HEAVY drum beats underneath it. The chants coordinate with the chackras and the drum beat is costant and doesn't change except to become lighter as the music continues.
MAGICKALLY the chants are healing and grounding and balancing in nature. They are to lightly activate cleanse and connect the chackra with the others.
Highly recommend, I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't get something from this album

This is an excellent album...the music is 'natural,' no spacey synth music. I put this on before bed and had strange and lucid dreams. The voices ascend in layers and you almost begin to hallucinate after a while...just amazing.
