Great Deck For Chakra Work,
This review is from: The Chakra Deck: 50 Cards for Promoting Spiritual and Physical Health (Relax and Rejuvenate) (Cards)
"Within the body like seven vital energy centers. We can't see or feel them; they won't show up in an X ray or MRI. Yet, for thousands of years, Eastern cultures have recognized their importance to our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Through these centers, known as chakras, life energy flows and is processed." - From the deck
The word "chakra" is Sanskrit for "wheel" which refers to the seven circular vortices of energy that are aligned vertically from the base of the spine. Chakras regulate energy flow, which can both expand and contract. Trauma, illness and stress can cause imbalances, resulting in blocked (deficient) energy or overloaded (excessive) energy. Balanced chakras, however, allow energy to flow freely, promoting health, vitality and harmony. Each of the seven chakras governs different areas of life, and correlate to parts of the body, colors, sounds, mudras (hand positions), elements, essential oils and more: Root Chakra - Red - Safety Sacral Chakra - Orange - Relationships and Creativity Solar Plexus (Navel) Chakra - Yellow - Personality and Willpower Heart Chakra - Green (and Pink) - Love and Compassion Throat Chakra - Blue - Expression and Communication Third Eye (Brow) Chakra - Indigo - Intuition Crown Chakra - Violet (White/Gold) - Union with the All That Is According to Olivia Miller, it is not necessary to know which chakras are unbalanced or what has caused the imbalance in order to bring balance to them again. She maintains that chakras can be cleared, rebalanced, and energized through yoga, controlled deep breathing (pranayama), meditation, gemstones, crystals, flower essences and essential oils. The Chakra Deck contains 50 color-coded cards with seven card dedicated to each chakra and one card addressing the aura-the electromagnetic protective shield that surrounds the body. A 4-part fold-out accompanies the deck and serves as an introduction to the chakras as well as an instruction manual for getting the most out of the deck. The cards measure approximately 5.5 x 3.75 inches and come in a sturdy gold-colored box. The top comes off easily, providing easy access to the deck, and the box can stand upright. The seven cards for each chakra include: * Description Card - Lists basic information such as English and Sanskrit names, physical location, associated body parts, and key influences such as color, gemstones, flower essences, essential oils, foods, basic issues and more. * Explanation Card - Lists ways to identify imbalances including associated physical, emotional, and behavioral issues-as well as suggested activities beneficial to achieving balance. * Breathing Exercise Card and Three Yoga Pose Cards - Each card features an illustration of the pose on one side while the other side provides easy-to-follow instructions, list of benefits, and a suggested affirmation targeting a specific chakra. These are designed to move stagnant or constricted energy, balance the glandular system, relieve stress, and balance the respiratory and central nervous system. * Meditation Card - Aids in fully integrating the chakra's energy throughout the entire being. The Chakra Deck is a no-frills set of cards that are full of helpful information and practical exercises. Color-coded, numbered, and labeled, these concise cards are great for learning, understanding, and balancing the chakras. I recieved this deck a few weeks ago. Being new to the world of chakras and meditation, I found this deck VERY helpful! It has a description of each chakra, an explanation of associated body parts and basic emotional and physical issues relating to each chakra. It also has the gemstones/crystals for each, flower essences, essential oils, and specific food for each chakra. It then gives three or four different yoga poses to help clear that particular chakra, as well as breathing exercises and meditations/chants for each. I found the cards easy to follow and nicely condensed, as they come in their own storage box with lid. There is even an aura card.
I highly recommend this deck if your looking for a quick reference or for traveling. :o)

This is my 2nd Deck - a gift for a friend. A truly enlightening, user-friendly, all-encompassing reference tool. The 7 Major Chakras are discussed in great detail including various healing yoga poses for each Chakra. Additionally, the Aura (Protective Shield) is included in the Deck. I would recommend this Chakra Deck to everyone!

A Quick and Easy Resource for Chakra Healing,

This review is from: Chakra Deck (Relax and Rejuvenate) (Kindle Edition)
I have a complete library of books on chakra energy and balancing, but I love this deck of cards for their quick, bulleted explanations of the 7 chakras, their associated energies and how they can impact your life and emotions - both positively and negatively depending on whether they are balanced or not - and suggestions for healing each chakra. I find it a great tool for beginners who want to work on a specific chakra, e.g., the root chakra, to feel more grounded, safe and secure. The suggestions can be easily followed without any additional expense for the user, as the yoga poses are illustrated well, the affirmations are wonderfully written, and the toning is well explained. If the user wants to purchase recommended crystals or aromatherapy to assist in their balancing, there are recommendations for them as well. The students in my chakra balancing workshops have benefitted from working with the cards that applied to their specific chakra imbalances in between our sessions. A great tool in our quest for balance! Namaste, Becca Chopra, author of The Chakra Diaries, [...]

This is a lovely introduction to Chakras. Not info.overload, just what you need to know to get started and to feel great.
I loved my hatha yoga practice, but now I have a knee injury!! For a long time I was feeling out of touch with my body, unable to practice. Then I discovered Kundalini yoga, which is more spiritual and has many poses from an easy sitting position. (I have a DVD of a Kundalini practice). Serendipitously I was trying to relax while falling asleep one night, and instinctively did a kind of dissolving/release of tension meditation. I slept so peacefully that night, in the morning I thought I'd try and find out a bit more about chakras, seeing as they are also about opening up and increasing energy flow etc. So, I got this deck!! Didn't you want to know all that!? Anyway, the deck. It's great...easy to use, nicely designed, nice exercises most of which won't irritate my knee. Many of the yoga positions derive from Kundalini (the yoga consultant being a Kundalini teacher-Kundalini, as I kind of understand it, focuses on balancing all the chakras and reaching the top chakra, opening a connection to the divine). Perhaps my favorite thing is the fusion of yoga, breathwork and visualization that these exercises promote. There's also a little chanting involved, if you're up for it! I recommend this for anyone wishing to deepen their yoga practice with a more meditative/spiritual slant. You could choose one 'chakra' to focus on at the end of a yoga session, or build a yoga session around the positions already supplied for each chakra. I also recommend it for people (like me!) who love yoga/exercise, but can't do it because of some physical impairment. It's really more meditative than physical (although the 'body drops' will build up heat) but it's better than nothing. It's just nice to be moving. I especially recommend this for older people, perhaps with arthritis, or anyone with disabilities. I also think it'd be perfect for anyone seeking relief from depression and anxiety. Just so you know there are 50 cards. Each chakra has three yoga poses and one meditation suggestion (as well as two introductory cards). The last card is about the 'aura', the 'eighth' chakra. My only very minor gripe with the deck was that, in visualizing your chakras, do you visualize them spinning, glowing, opening, or what?? At one point it said 'vibrating,' which seems a bit enigmatic. Instinctively I want to go with 'opening,' and whether or not it really matters, I don't know. A nice compliment to this deck (even though it doesn't mention chakras) is 'Kundalini Yoga to detox and destress' with Maya Fiennes.

I was really unsure what to expect when I ordered this. But, once I received this product, I was glad I did! It's very well written and easy to follow. You don't have to be a yoga genius to figure this out! Very good information and helpful! I will be ordering these as gifts for people!

I purchased this deck as a result of reading Janet Boyer's review. I have been practicing yoga for many years and recently took a level 1 class in healing touch. I wanted to further explore the connection between yoga and chakras and this deck of cards is awesome. Click on the image 'look inside' to view the cards. Click on 'first pages' to take a look at the information on the description card and the explanation card. Note that each pose card is named and described on the back side.
Every morning I start with several sun salutations, then I take one set of seven cards and read through and practice each one. For example, on Monday I started with just the Root Chakra cards, then on Tuesday I used only the Sacral Chakra cards, and so on throughout the week. At this point, I prefer to work only with one set. That way I can clearly set my intention for the day, i.e.: Root Chakra - I am grounded, I am safe, I trust myself, I am ready to release old habits. I also include in my practice the beneficial activities that promote a balanced Root Chakra - yoga, walking, hiking, running, biking, or gardening. I do my yoga in the morning and pick one other exercise to do later in the day. The description card for each chakra includes suggestions for food and essential oils. The reverse side of the table of contents pages (not shown in 'look inside') gives a very good explanation of the cards and how to use them, suggesting as I did above, or selecting cards randomly allowing for inner guidance on choice. I plan to purchase more as gifts and will recommend them to others without hesitation!

I really like this deck. It's organized in a way that supplements other books I have; gives an overview of chakras without being too wordy. The breathing exercises (asanas), yoga instructions and meditation instructions are clear and adaptable to any skill level. I've shared this with friends who also found it interesting and helpful.
