This would make a good gift book in my opinion. The chakra system in there, imo, is pretty accurate from what I've read and experienced from other books. The yoga/tai-chi and other meditations in this book can also be useful if you have the time and will to do such things.
If you are interested in esoteric knowledge, then admittedly there are better books out there. But don't get me wrong - there is still a lot of of good and accurate knowledge there (and trust me, some new age books contain semi-accurate and misleading information), but half of this book seems to be about yoga/tai-chi positions - with lots of pictures.

I love this book. The pictures are great for really illustrating the poses and the combination of Chakra work with Yoga is great. Very worth getting and working with this book.
