5.0 out of 5 stars Best Instrumental Album I've Heard In A Long Time

3.0 out of 5 stars I found the first CD Brainscapes better.
Charakra just dosn't quite cut it. Its an OK CD, but really not too memorable. Also it tends to become boring after repeated playings... Brainscapes the first CD is much more trancy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Instrumental Album I've Heard In A Long Time, August 26, 2001
This review is from: Chakradancer (Audio CD)
Rarely have I heard a CD as evocative of such solemn nobility and warm beauty of both the earth and mind. Put this CD on when you have a chance to lay back and listen to it with no interruptions. I defy you to NOT be transferred to a higher plane! From the beautifully somber and powerful opening of 'Earth Link', through the friendly and welcome melodies of 'Sunset/Moonrise' and the joyful sounds of 'Anahata'...absolutely wonderful. And I hope when I die I hear music as warm and comforting as 'Sound of Light'! I'd never heard of this group before, but they came near to perfection with this album. Their other albums seem to center on different genres - 'Chakradancer' is the one to get if you want their best!

5.0 out of 5 stars enchanting instrumental, November 4, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Chakradancer (Audio CD)
Released on CyberOctave, a Higher Octave label, "Chakradancer", Alain Eskinasi dispenses with the didgeridoo featured predominately on their first release and replaces it with crystal bowls played by Derk Mulder. The bowls, along with the "haunting moods, the subtle voices, the repetitive and mesmerizing percussion all are ingredients which culminate in one of the most enchanting instrumental releases in recent memory."

Of the eight tracks on "Chakradancer", my favorites are "Earth-Link," "Give-A-Way," "Vishuddha"-with its magical use of whale sounds and Sanskrit vocals, "Sound Of Light," "Crystalline," and the CD bonus track, "A Voice Inside." All tracks are over seven minutes in length with the whole CD running at close to an hour. After listening to "Earth-Link," and "Give-A-Way,"-with their hypnotic beats, the distant, haunting chants and the layers of "synthesized atmospherics," it wasn't hard imagining myself walking the streets of ancient Sumer with Enki in some long forgotten age.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent rhythmic spacemusic, February 17, 1998
This review is from: Chakradancer (Audio CD)
This is an excellent CD to use as either listening material or auditory input to relax. Spacemusic that features "world rhythms" (frame drums, tablas, etc.) that work well together. Similar to Steve Roach. IMHO, much better than "Brainscapes" since they dropped the diggerdoo(what is this instrument adding to music? I think it just must be fun to play). Excellent recording quality. All the tracks are great. END

4.0 out of 5 stars Sensual Levitaion, May 20, 2007

A calming reassuring CD bringing rest and tranquility to the spirit. Eskinasi and Mulder have created an organic sensual experience using synthesizers and middle eastern instrumentation. This album is based on Chakra music theory. That being sound imaging to energize the spirit. The sensuality lies in the energized tranquility within his music. Imposing a relaxing psychological effect upon the listener.

The day I received this CD I went for a drive with the top down on my convertible Sebring and watched the sun set to Sunset/Moonrise (among others on the CD). WOW. This music transports me to an inner world so easily. I cannot explain why I love it so much. Not much to say - it touched my soul.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!, December 9, 2007

I listen to a lot of music of all different kinds, and I just LOVE this CD. It is "new age" and "easy listening"... but with a much richer, more evocative sensuality than most of the others in this genre. No matter what I am doing, I find that this music enriches the experience. It's been a long time since I've been this excited about a meditation style CD. This one just plain touches my spirit.
