In this book, Dr. Karagulla compares her patient histories with the findings of clairvoyant Dora van Gelder Kunz, who described what she saw in the patient's energy fields. Dr. Karagulla found a remarkable correspondence between what van Gelder Kunz `saw' in the patient's field and the patient's clinical history.
The major concept of this book: physical, emotional and mental diseases are associated with specific imbalances or disturbances in the chakras and human energy fields. According to Dora van Gelder Kunz, during a healer's visualization, static images are not as effective as dynamic images, e.g., visualizing green light moving into a chakra is more effective than imagining a green disk over the chakra. Images with inner meaning or significance to the practitioner, i.e. those with an emotional component, are more effective than abstract mental images. For Healing Touch students, one application of this information is the sacred chakra spread where we visualize light entering a chakra, and then gently spread the chakra open. The light moving into the chakra is a dynamic image and quite potent, judging by the feedback of our clients who report, "seeing lights" during the session.
