This review is from: The Chalice (Hardcover)
This book is not for everyone, but if you have a basic interest in the legends connected to Glastonbury, and are familiar with and not put off by Dion Fortune, you will enjoy it.
Phil Rickman is an author who should be better known in the United States, and THE CHALICE, as a standalone, is a particularly good introduction to his work. All the major themes that run through his other later books, such as changes in English village life, the relevance and imminence of the supernatural, and strong, well-developed characters both male and female, are all present here. |
