5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing and it works
It's chalk and it's amazing. My deadlift was a lot easier once I used the chalk. I can't compare to other chalk but I know this one is great and cheap. Power cleans are a lot easier too. This chalk just completely helps your grip naturally. It's real easy to carry around in a big zip lock bag and not make a mess. So I'm happy and my gym is happy.

3.0 out of 5 stars It broke.
Basically what your getting here is a cloth filled with chalk. I use it for weight training. Funny to think a cloth filled with chalk can break but this thing did. The zip tie holding the cloth closed just popped off after using it 2 times and chalk started to pour out. Luckily i was holding the ball with the zip tie facing up, if it would have been facing down all the...

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my best weightlifting investments yet!, March 13, 2011

This review is from: 3 oz. Chalk Ball for Gymnastics, Climbing, and Weight Lifting (Misc.)
I purchased this chalk in order to avoid having to use straps or gloves during heavy deadlifts. Before I purchased it, I always had issues with slipping and losing my grip when I was doing deadlifts with more than 3 plates on each side...even with a mixed grip. After using the chalk, my deadlift exploded because I didn't have to worry about my grip. After using chalk, my grip has never been an issue, and I can deadlift 4 plates without grip issues (decent lift because it's just under 3x my body weight).

Also, this product came with two chalk balls, one of which I have not even used yet, and it's been over a year. I just keep the one I use in a ziplock and clean up after myself so the gym never has issues with me making a mess. If you do heavy lifts, leave your straps and gloves at home, and join the chalk/calloused hands club...it's well worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chalk BAG, May 1, 2011

I really like this chalk because it makes your grip SUPER secure. It works AWESOMELY. I have never used chalk like this though so I was thinking it was a solid ball of chalk but its actually in a soft cloth bag which you just squeeze to get some on your hands. Its really cool actually. If you've used this kind of chalk before you probably already knew that though. Anyway great stuff.

There's not much to be said about a product like this because it only has one function, and that is to make sure your grip does not slip.

I gotta tell you, it felt like my hands were welded to that bar. Simple yet satisfying product. I recommend it to any lifters out there who need to get the most out of their grip.

My grip was becoming the limiting factor in my deadlift. With this chalk you can sense the difference in grip strenght.

This ball is very convenient and the seller is good. Fast shipping.

It does the job. I like that it comes in a resealable bag so it doesn't cause a mess. I have had no problems thus far with the ball breaking or leaking. For the price, the chalk ball is a good investment for numerous activities.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works!, December 7, 2011

I hafta admit, I always thought using chalk was a silly affectation akin to leg warmers. In 25 years of working up a sweat with heavy iron, I've never lost my hold on a weight. Most bars are knurled - how much more grip do you need, for crying out loud? Well, a few years ago, I started heaving kettlebells around. Swing one of those around for 300 reps on a hot day and yeah - it does get a tad slippery. After almost losing one out the window a couple of times, I finally broke down and bought this chalk ball, and boy am I sold. Works way better than I imagined. Almost too good for kettlebells - I have to use it sparingly because you do want the handle to rotate a bit in your grip. No more lost 'bells.

4.0 out of 5 stars Replaced my wrist straps, August 8, 2011

My first gym I worked out in had chalk boxes everywhere and the 24hr I go to now doesn't have one. I used to own the Versa Grips Pro and they were awesome, but I was taught if i can't hold it I probably shouldn't lift it by some power lifters. So I ditched them and got the chalk because I suffer from hyper-hydrosis and my palms are always clammy making heavy weight pulling exercises hard. Chalk beats straps any day for weighted pull ups and dead lifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good and basic, June 8, 2011
This review is from: 3 oz. Chalk Ball for Gymnastics, Climbing, and Weight Lifting (Misc.)
This is a simple product, and as such, it performs as specified. It is messy, so don't order thinking it's a clean one. But it does exactly what it should. Overall a good product. We use it for weightlifting and it's great.

As previously mentioned, there really isn't much to be said here. It's exactly what you would expect and is just like any other cloth ball of chalk out there. It's not going to tear, open, or malfunction so long as you treat it like one. For the sake of portability, these things are fantastic. Good quality, great price, and a solid product.
