4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, entertaining read August 15, 2011

I enjoyed this book and liked the author's breezy style. It is not meant to be deep literature, but just a fast, fun read. I would compare it to Janet Evanovich's style. There were a lot of typos but that wasn't really a big deal. This book is well worth the 99 cents and I would buy the next book if one becomes available.

2.0 out of 5 stars ridiculous September 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I agree with Cheap Skate. This thing appears to have been written by a teenager. Spoilers Ahead--- Seems everyone involved in the case, is one of her former students.I could believe she would come across two or three, but there are at least seven. Then she falls for a man who is a jerk to her ( and everyone else ). People who don't even know her decide to tell her their deepest darkest secrets. It's just not a good story. .99 was appropriate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, light mystery with a bit of romance November 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Chalk One up to Murder was a good mystery that kept my attention throughout the book. The plot was solid and the characters were well-developed.
The story is about a teacher who gets involved in trying to prove a former student's innocence of a murder charge. There's a budding romance as well which is fun to see evolve. I hope there's a sequel.
I would recommend this book to someone who enjoys a light, cozy mystery.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun read November 8, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed the book, it was pretty fun - if a little far fetched. I agree about too many former students. Who really remembers their fifth grade teacher? One note to the author about name dropping. Readers love it, it makes us feel like we're part of an elite club. But, it could be a little more subtle. You can say "I wonder what Kinsey would do..." instead of "I wonder what Kinsey Millhone, of the Sue Grafton novels would do." We'll get it.

Enjoyed getting to know Ms. Pickle and her former students. Nice to read something without a lot of steamy stuff in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! March 29, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book. It kept my interest and loved the mention of the other mystery books, all of which happen to be some of my favorites. It was a good mystery, light, funny and an easy read. If you like Janet Evanovich or Sue Grafton, you will like Bailey Hines. I hope to see another book in the Ms. Pickle series.

It is a good story, but I found that it sometimes began to drag a little. I would read this author again though.
