Chriag Reiser has been a wildlife biologist for a quarter of a century; his main interest the rapidly changing landscape of southern California. He has done micro-photography of several thousand plants and vertebrate animals of the region, documenting the loss of habitat.

I'm no scholarly type, so I have not critically examined Reiser's work. However, I love his stuff. Vivid, creative, unique, humerous, insightful, rythmic, sweet, sad... just a few descriptors of his poetry. I find myself going back and reading here and there all the time. If your a naturalist or an artistic/romantic type you'll especially like it.
