This writing is so typical of fiction I can not believe the author was a journalist. I was expecting something more convincing, like a factual account not a novel,

Deftly written by Phillip H. Krapf (a 25-year veteran of the L.A. Times), The Challenge Of Contact: A Mainstream Journalist's Report On Interplanetary Diplomacy is an informed and informative report on a diplomatic and negotiated coalition between humans and aliens. A Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, Krapf is particularly candid in recounting his own three on-board contacts with an advanced ET race and their invitation for Earth to join an intergalactic federation of planets. A fascinating study that presents our world as close to induction into an intergalactic federation of planets, The Challenge Of Contact is a welcome very highly recommended addition to the growing library of UFOlogy Studies.

I'm embarrassed to say I read this book. When I bought it, I assumed it was going to be an intellectual look into the challenges of contact. Unfortunately, I quickly figured out that it was the worst kind of b-grade UFO material that money can buy. Even with a huge font, they are barely able to stretch this material to 200 pages, and then only by filling it with inane dialogue by a truly lame author. One example is a "dinner party" aboard a UFO. All the guests, except the author, are intellectual elites and extremely snobbish, and they are all gathered to discuss the future of earth with the aliens. It's completely unbelievable that this snobbish dinner gala aboard a UFO is going to be filled with the same small talk, exactly as if it were a debutante ball in Atlanta. It's just too much to believe. Why would anyone publish a book that is so totally mediocre that you want to toss it in the trash after the first few pages? Advice to the author: if you're going to write a book and try to pass it off as being true-to-life, at least have a decently vivid imagination and have someone help you with the dialogue.

WOW, were do I start, this book shows absolutely no insight's into a higher itelligence what so ever. All the religous dialogue is nothing more than general observations anyone could obsereve right here on earth. They are just generalized for the entire universe. And what superior race still needs a mediator(there religous/spritual leader, who supposedly talked to the supreme being himself)to communicate for them haven't they learned that the relationship between oneself and "GOD" is a personal one. How enlightened can they be? After reading his first book I figured the defining moment between fact or fiction would be If the aliens backed out of the deal. And true to my skepticism the 911 was used for this purpose. If this race has been watching us for a thousand years this should have come as no surprise, actually compared to other historic mile stones of our past, this would seem rather small compared to say Hitlers anticks,or the last to world wars. The fact is the theme for our spieces is man will always try to dominate man. I guess the alien's should read this to get the record straight. Save your money,Obveously Mr. Krafp doesn't care about his fellow man to try to peddal this off as true, just to make a buck maybe? He must be the 20% NO?. One more added thought who would, if they were able to have a direct dialoge with a higher civilization would engauge in this type of subject matter presented in his book, how about some deeper in sight into time and space, physics, porpulsion thru space, there ability to manipulate matter, what is matter itself? Is just a few questions, OK I better stop here, but hopefully you get the picture.

What if?,

This review is from: The Challenge of Contact: A Mainstream Journalist's Report on Interplanetary Diplomacy (Paperback)
What if the entire UFO operation is just what many Christian believers think it is, the work of Satan as the "final big rip off at the End TIme?" Only then does any of this make any sense at all. As one reviewer put it:"Why the Verdents are so easy to manipulate when they are so supposed to be so much more intelligent than primitive humans they study we may never know, but maybe this lending an ear to petty complaints (against Phillip) shouldn't suprize us as some of the Verdents that Phillip describes, Martin and Gus in particular, are petty themselves, barely restraining their delight in hearing tales of human misery and suffering." Who do we know who has always delighted at human misery, suffering and wars? If my hunch is right, then this is exactly what Satan would do near the end of time to sew up any lose ends and mislead millions. He'd have Phillip write up these books to get things started, and then later have others who are famous people to come forward and tell of working with the Verdants all along. What if Dan Rather turned up and said that he'd been going onto UFOs for many years, and now has been given permission to tell of what happened? Then here's another telling point the other reviewer also pointed out: "Certainly one has to question why a "young" sexy woman, like the Verdent Gina, would want to "sexperiment" with a man who is way, way past his prime. This demonstrates a gross lack of discrimination and taste for someone allegedly so experienced in sexual customs and behaviors." Why wouldn't "they" or "the demons" want to rope humans into "sin" as much as they can? It's not a matter of "Having sex with an old man" it's the actual act of Fornication that drives this gambit! It means nothing to them, but they knew that it would be a "sin" to the writer. And that's what satan has been up to for a long time: Tempting. Clearly, Revelation tells us that Satan is going to "Fake" the Second Coming of Christ at the Sixth Trump. What better way to do this than to show up in giant UFO's over Israel and Rome? My guess is that they'll hover right over the Dome of the Rock, and to the Jews it will be their Messiah, to Islam it will be the return of Mohammed, and to the Christians who haven't been reading their bibles, they'll think it's Jesus Christ here to "Rapture" them away! Since 60 million copies of "Left Behind" have been bought by Christians who see that novel as "bible fact" those 60 million readers actually BELIEVE that Christ will "Rapture them out" BEFORE the time of trouble starts! But the bible clearly teaches that Christ's coming will be very public, and that "every eye" will see Him when He comes! But that book has them thinking they'll be taken away before the End! It's perfect! Satan will be now able to "Rapture" the Christians who weren't reading their bibles, and "con" them into thinking that HE is Jesus Christ! AND, when the gigantic UFOs hover over Jerusalem and Rome, the entire world will be snowed into thinking that this is the Second Coming of Christ exactly the way Revelation said satan would do it! The deal is, when it HAPPENS nobody will be permitted to SAY what I'm saying here, because to do so you'd look like a nut case! Anybody then saying "these people are demons" would really look stupid, and besides, the bible says that once he gets here, that satan will get a religious law passed, that will make it mandatory for everybody to get the Mark of the Beast in the hand or forehead! It will all happen overnight, and the news" won't be saying a WORD about my version of events, because it's the one foretold in the bible! For those who haven't been reading their bibles, it will be too late, and they will have been mislead by "the father of lies" for the last time. |
