While the authors find some elements of modernity worth keeping, they contend that components of the premodern period are frequently more helpful for the church. Thought provoking ideas from various Christian thinkers.,

There are lots of essays in this text; it's difficult not to find some that will either enlighten the Christian reader to the way of thinking now upon us or enlighted the non-Christian toward Christian thought. These essays are an excellent collaboration on this subject matter. The various authors are well educated and worthy of philosophical and theological debate.
