This CD was awful. Most of the Coal Chamber fans will love this CD, but as far as this CD being better-it isn't. The lyrics are still dumb, the Ozzy remake was a disaster, the guitar riffs were dull, and the composition was horrible. The expectations were not fulfilled. This CD bites! Don't waste your money, and Coal Chamber quit your day job.

Chamber Music is by far the greatest rock cd of late 99 and early 2000. Coal Chamber's first album was awesome but it's influences we're clear, and lacked dynamics. Chamber Music takes Coal Chamber to their own new genre. With all the Rap-Metal junk the radio stations pipe into the air, tracks like "Tyler's Song" "Notion" and the unexpectedly incredible "My Mercy" (featuring Aimee Echo from the late Human Waste Project) show that hard rock isn't doomed. Dez's lyrical hooks and melodies leave you singing along to every song. Meeg's has much dynamic range to his guitar playing range, from heavy unforgettable riffs, to dark echoing strings that make you feel as if you we're in a horror film. Mike and Rayna also have shown much improvement. I'd easily say that Mike puts any of the new rock drummers to shame.

Coal Chamber is a band that is going to stick around, and eventually take over. You might as well come along for the ride.

This album blows their other two (Coal Chamber and Dark Days) out of the water! I was actually disappointed with Dark Days because it just didn't show Coal Chamber's talent the way Chamber Music does. That's just my opinion. All the songs are listenable and enjoyable. When you listen to it, pretend like you've never heard the other two albums and the go back to the other two, you will see this a different way. This is without a doubt, the peak of Coal Chamber's creativity and they'll have to better than Dark Days to impress me next time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Their Best Album, January 4, 2004
This review is from: Chamber Music (Audio CD)
I was introduced to Coal Chamber by a friend around 5yrs ago.
In that time frame I have fallen in love with the bands music,
the strong and moody lyric's that some echo on the pain of life and gothic style strings in the backgrounds,
the awesome guitar notes are all ear candy.
Chamber Music is my favorite album, and in my thoughts their best.
Track 12; My Mercy is my favorite song of the 16 tracks; the slow guitar strums and vocals,
then it goes into rock in the middle of the song to add to the aura of the song.
I also love, "Tylers Song, No Home, Feed My Dreams and Shock the Monkey with Ozzy."
If your just starting to listen or a long time listener and have not gotten this album yet, please do.
Its a wonderful addition to any gothic collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Coal Chamber, easily, February 20, 2004
This review is from: Chamber Music (Audio CD)
i first heard of Coal Chamber a few years ago when i first watched the movie "Resident Evil"

the song at the end, "Something Told Me" i thought was a really good song. so i downloaded it and enjoyed it for quite a bit...

a few years down the road, i saw Chamber Music in HMV i was in and thought id might as well get it, since i really didnt know much Coal Chamber then

so i got home, stuck it my stereo and was BLOWN AWAY. the is the only CC album i own rite now, and it is an awesome album.
there's isnt a single bad song (except for maybe "Mist", but then again its just an intro)

song that really stick are songs like "Not Living", "Tyler's Song", "Tragedy"(a great way to start off , by the way), and my favourite "Untrue". there's also an interesting cover "Shock The Monkey" (i forget who sung it originally) with the legendary OZZY

as a whole, this is an awesome album.its one of the few albums i can listen to all the way thru. this is definitely something any CC fan should have. also a great album for people who are new to CC (like me :>)

Maybe this sort of thing just isn't my taste but I bought the album based on a reccomendation from a friend and did not like it very much at all. There are a couple of moments on the CD that I like but on the whole it's incomprehensible and tough to listen to, if you like Korn I think you'll enjoy this one but it just isn't for me.

I wasn't always a big Coal Chamber fan. I heard songs like "loco" and "big truck" but I didn't think they were that great. A long time ago I bought the Scream 3 soundtrack, which has "tyler's song" on it. After I listened to that song I knew I had to get the CD. After listening to this CD, it will be in your CD player for months. All the songs on here are great. Their sound comes together perfectly with the amazing guitar skillz of Meegs, the thundering bass lines from Rayna, the excellent drumming by Mike, and the powerful vocals of Dez. This CD has other notable artists such as Ozzy Osbourne (shock the monkey), Aimee Echo (My mercy), and Orgy's Jay Gordon (keyboards on "burgundy"). The CD starts with the soft violin song, "mist" and then crashes into the heavy Tragedy. The heavier songs on this CD are El Cu Cuy, Tyler's Song, Entwined, Tragedy, and Not Living. The soft, more mellow songs are Mist, Burgundy, and My Mercy. Get up off your computer and get this CD now!

I'm so sorry folks...Coal Chamber has let us all down. I said they were good to "Coal Chamber", but I just can't believe how much they've dropped down so far to a oceanic bottom level. The only good songs on there are ~sniffle~ Feed my dreams, My mercy...and that's ~sniffle~ about it. Please don't waste your money on this like I did mine. Well, actually my Grandma bought it for me...cool Grandma, eh? I think she is, only this cd stinks...

1.0 out of 5 stars Booooooring..., January 16, 2000
This review is from: Chamber Music (Audio CD)
Let's see here...another band who thinks they're another Nine Inch Nails. Isn't that sweet. They call themselves Coal Chamber, and while they seem like gothic and creepy demons that devulge into shock value, they're really just another trite and unoriginal band who wants to become a role model for depressed suburban teenagers. Dizzy's (or whatever his name is) most original and complete song is Shock the Monkey, but that's probably because it came from somewhere else, and he got Ozzy Osborne to sing with them.

Eversince their debut, this band has been thoughtless with lyrics. For example, lets say they did a song called "Hamburger." Most likely, there wouldn't be much meaning or words to the song. It would go like: "Hamburger!...Hamburger! Hamburger!...I love Ham-burgers! " That's exactly what most of their songs sounded like on their 1997 debut("Loco" actually goes the same way as my example), and listening to this album, things have not changed.

If you need a good, thought-out dose of Industrial, I recommend you invest on Static X, Ministry, Filter, or best of all, Nine Inch Nails. You definitely won't find it here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Coal Chambers Sophmore album, February 16, 2007
This review is from: Chamber Music (Audio CD)
Of the CC albums this one most certainly stands the test of time and has me coming back. Most certainly their most creative hour. The songs may not bring back that balls to the walls velocity on their debut but its far more diverse and fuses their Nu Metal meets Gothic like none of their others. Most certainly a classic along with their debut. Some songs are weak overall its a satasfied buy however its less Nu Metal than their debut. After this album started going downhill.
