5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what it says...
My garage door would not close unless I held down the hard-wired switch, overriding the safety sensors. I did some looking and found that the LED's on my sensors were supposed to light up (one should stay illuminated, and the other should illuminate when the sensors are lined up). The LED's on my old sensors were so dim, I could only see them light up if the garage was...

1.0 out of 5 stars doesn't work when sun shining
The sensors are not strong enough to reach accross the door opening if the sun is shining only works when the doorway is in the shade and at night. in full sun the door will not close and they are properly adjusted lazer is not strong enough even though this was the correct replacement part for old sensers.

My garage door would not close unless I held down the hard-wired switch, overriding the safety sensors. I did some looking and found that the LED's on my sensors were supposed to light up (one should stay illuminated, and the other should illuminate when the sensors are lined up). The LED's on my old sensors were so dim, I could only see them light up if the garage was completely dark. I took a guess that I needed new sensors. Well, long story short, I ordered these and had them in a few days. Install was a breeze, it only took about 10 minutes, and all I used was a $1 pair of wire cutters. Just remove your old sensors from their mount and cut the wires, splice the new sensor's wires with your existing garage door opener's wires using the included crimp connectors, and mount the sensors on the included brackets (or on your existing brackets). Everything worked like a charm, and I got to impress my wife with my handyman skills!

Make sure you check the wiring on the main unit, before you purchase. A bad connection can also prevent sensors from performing. Because my sensors were also dim, I ordered this pair. Upon receiving them, I thought I would then check the wiring on the main unit--stupid me, I know. A wire was loose, and I tightened, and the old one worked. Oh, well. I also discovered that these units did not adapt to my old mounts, and I would have to build up the wall to accomodate the shorter brackets provided. So....just a warning to avoid my errors and check all connections first, and measure your brackets. That being said, it still would have been a pretty easy fix with these new units. Now I have back up sensors! Yay!

Awsome product. My old sensors died and i had to replace with these! No problems now....garage door works. When you install these simply remove old ones and cut the lines. Now simply splice new sensors to the old cables.

One of my sensors went out and I found the replacement here and cheaper than other places. I installed them in about two minutes and they work perfectly.

4.0 out of 5 stars worked as stated, July 11, 2010

The door sensor went out on my old Craftsman 1/2 HP opener. This replacement unit did the job and was reasonably priced. A tip I did get from a previous review was that you can use your Comcast remote to test your receive sensor. Even though the light was out, when I used the remote the green light came on, thus proving it wasn't the receive sensor that was bad. Took me about fifteen minutes to splice in the new unit and all was good again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fixed my garage door issue, March 21, 2010

I recently purchase a foreclosed home that has a Chamberlain Liftmaster garage door opener. Had no remote controls and was missing one of the sensors. When I purchase the remote controls, I was having the same issue as the previous comments that were made by Aaron Pattillo. That's when I found out of the missing sensor. I figured I'd give this product a try. Installation would have been easy had there been a bracket already in place. I had to install with less than 6 inches of space to not obscure from the garage door on the side that was missing the sensor. This product works great with the easy to use instructions and I finely can use a garage door opener with a remote. I would definitely recommend this product.

Very easy product to install, took about a half hour. Ya don't have to be an electrician to do this job. Instructions were very straight forward and easy to follow. We've had the sensors installed about three weeks now and they're working like a charm. Excellent product.
