The first image on this is incorrect. 953CB is the security+ version (if you have a red or orange learn button) of Chamberlain openers. 953D (this remote) is for the purple learn button.

We had just installed a new garage door opener and realized that we need 2 additional remote controls. It was easy to find the ones we need using this retailers description on Amazon. The remotes were delivered faster than promised, programed the first time and work just like the ones that came with the new opener. I would definitely recommend this vendor and would use them again.

This is for those Chamberlain door openers that have the purple learn button. Our house came with one of these remotes already and we needed a second. I bought the exact same one, and programming (including reading the simple instructions) took about 15 seconds. As usual with Amazon, the remote came earlier than expected and it was about $5 cheaper than at my local large hardware-store chain. The product description says there is an LED light, but that is incorrect. But I don't think it matters because it is pretty easy to tell if it's working: press the button, if the door opens then great! It also let me program the garage door opener's light to the 2nd button easily, and now I want to try to find something to program the 3rd button to. Anyway, I'm not sure there is much more that can be said about a garage door remote, but this one works great as long as you have the right model (purple learn button on the back of the opener).

It's been a couple months since I got this (forgot to review right away), but I remember it coming in a zip lock bag with the manual and everything inside (instead of the plastic container like it would in the big box stores). I'm assuming it was repackaged to fit into a smaller container for shipping, but regardless it works great, synced to my opener in less than 5 seconds, still going like a champ.

I am a handyman and I had a customer that left there remote up north when they came down to Florida to there home here. They went out and bought a Chamberlan compatable remote but for some reason it would not program to there brand new opener that I installed this year for them. I got online and amazon.com came through. I found ones that matched there opener perfectly and I got them and programed them in about 15 minutes and they work like a charme. They where also cheaper then the others they bought and that included the postage and handling!

i needed another garage opener, and if i order through place where they installed the garage, they charge $45!!! i've called up several local place where they sell it and the price pretty much the same. that's in sane compare to this price. this one works fine and so easy to set it up. just follow the instructions so easy 1-2-3, and your are done! get it from here! i've saved$25 and i am going to buy a big fat juicy steak from costco!

This was a great value! We needed an additional remote and this one cost much less than buying it @ the store or even from the manufacturer. It was very easy to program and has been operating very well.

If you have a Chamberlain garage door opener with a purple learn button, this remote is the correct one. Programming was super easy:

1. Press the "learn" button on the opener

2. Press and hold the desired button on the remote until the light in the motor flashes (or it clicks audibly if your bulb is dead).

3. Use the remote, it's done!

Bought the initial Chamberlain bundle from Costco, and I love it. The additional remote purchased here works great with the Security Plus Chamberlain belt drive unit. Small, light and powerful.

This three button remote is manufactured to work with the Chamberlin Whisper Drive "Security +" models. Pay close attention to the model number and color of the buttons, because that is how they identify model compatibility. This door opener works as advertized. The programming instructions for use with the foregoing Whisper Drive are clear, and if your door was installed with the "multi-function door control" (fancy wall switch) you can also follow the instructions that came with the door itself, (which I did), and the programming time was less than 1 minute.

I replaced one of the original remotes that came with the garage door because it began to fail to close the door on the first push, and I had to repeatedly push the button to make it close. I checked the battery and it was still good, so I searched for the door opener remote control online via the model number and found it on Amazaon.

The other remote that originally came with the door still works normally no problems. Chamberlin has a good web site, but their live support is only available during business hours. Amazon had the right item at the right price, so all in all, very satisfied.
