Here's a very important piece of information that's missing in Amazon's description:

The Liftmaster 970LM is compatible only with garage door openers with an orange learn button and SECURITY+ logo. If you have purple learn button, then buy the Liftmaster 370LM instead, which operates at 315Mhz instead of 390Mhz.

Mine works great. Comes with instruction, battery and velcro. Programming is easy, just press the orange learn button, release it quickly, then press the center button on the remote, release it quickly, see confirmation light flashes or hear click click sound near the learn button. That's it. (Don't hold the learn button for more than 6 seconds, as it will clear all codes and make your other remotes useless.)

I have a detached garage. It used to be a hassle to carry the remote with me everywhere I go. Now I can just add this to my keychain and never have to think about it anymore. I didn't want to put the original remote (visor clip on type) inside my pocket, because it's large and a little pressure can push the button down accidentally which might close/open the garage door at unexpected time, causing injuries for my little baby running around. Now I have one hand free for holding my baby's hand or carring groceries.

Although it says it only works with a receiver that have a 'learn button', it actually works with older models that doesn't have a learn button. Thanks to the quick response from the seller, I was able to set it up and use it after getting assistance from the seller within half an hour in the evening. It turns out there is a 'smart button' inside the receiver. I actually needed to open the receiver up. But it works great and I would have to say: excellent customer service. Just make sure your receiver model is on the list described along with this product and you are good to go.

This garage door opener is easy to program, works well, and easily attaches to a key chain. The only criticism is that it has a relatively short range, in my experience about 50 feet. Otherwise, a great product.

We learned after receiving this item that it is not compatible with new Chamberlain openers. At least the one we received is not. We have sent a note to Ace Hardware, who sold ours, to see if an updated remote is available in the same style.

Until the description text is updated to reflect compatibility requirements for the unit you will receive, I recommend not ordering unless you get an explicit assurance from the seller. Provide the model number of your opener and insist they check the remote that will be shipped.

My wife and daughter kept taking the garage door openers of our cars because they didn't want to unlock/lock the side garage door on our detached garage late at night. I was always getting into a car in the garage and being unable to close the door automatically. I get them each one of these key chain garage door openers and the problem was solved!

Unit worked great and improves security over a button left in the car that could be stolen.
One big problem however, is the door can open without you knowing if you carry the unit in your pant pocket, or even handling the unit laying it down on the dresser etc. it needs a delay time of a second on pushing the button so just bumping the button in your pocket etc. doesn't open the door without you realizing it.

Great remote control, Why spend double more money to buy from Sears for the same functional product.

Great product, I got it to use with my motorcycle. Easy to set up and use. Seems well made and durable.

This product is fantastic. It is easy to program and use with the enclosed instructions, and attaches to your key chain if desired. It is the same size as an automobile remote control. We ordered 2 of them so that we wouldn't have to use the large clip-on individual openers for our doors, which fall off the visors and can easily be lost. Another great advantage to this product is that potential thieves won't see the opener in your vehicle, break into your vehicle, find your personal information, then head to your residence and easily break in and help themselves to your valuable belongings.

This is an excellent remote garage door opener. Very compact and the price was much better than if I bought it at Sears.
