This "universal" remote does not work with Overhead Door Co. systems. Buyer beware!

I have two Garage Door Openers in my house, a new Chamberlain Belt Drive we bought a few months ago, and an old LiftMaster Chain Drive that was here when the house was built. We primarily use the Garage Door with the new opener, but have had to have two remotes in each car for those times when I want to open the other garage door. What a pain! We bought this remote to solve the problem, and it did!

The remote was pretty easy to program for both openers. Now both my wife and I only have to carry this "Clicker," instead of the two different remotes on the visor. Great & simple product!

I now have 3 of these remotes. They are durable, and easy to program. The battery life has been really good (over a year on one battery and still going strong!) I love the fact I am able to program two garage door openers on one remote. For people with one garage door opener, program them both to the same settings and then it won't matter which button you push! As far as replacement remotes go, this is a wonderful low cost option. However, verify your garage door/lift gate opener is compatible first! I have a 3 year old CLT1 which works fine for my gate and for my garage door. However, the CLT1D has dropped support for Multi-code controllers. So my CLT1D will not open my gate. I am taking it back. Further beware, there is no warning of non-support in the CLT1D documents. It is up to you to notice the difference between the instructions for your new and your old controller. The only info on the company web site is a pdf of the CLT1 instructions, indicating support for Multi-code. I guess they can't manage the five minutes of labor it would take to post the updated pdf. Figuring this out was a frustrating waste of time for me. Frankly, it is very rare for a newer version of an electronic device to do LESS than the earlier model.
And, the phone support is a useless duplication of the printed instructions.

This is not compatible with all garage door openers. Not just the ones that are itemized in the manual, (which I read before ordering) but also 'Overhead Door' (not an uncommon brand) which was only brought to my attention after calling customer service and after an hour of aggravation!

I first had to reprogram both my receiver and my existing remotes, because the CLT1 doesn't have a "0" setting for its DIP switches. That was annoying and tedious but not hard. I then followed the programming instructions for the CLT1 precisely and it didn't work at all. I also tried reversing the on-off settings as another user suggested, and that didn't work either. I'm returning it tomorrow.

After 30 minutes of trying with no result, I called Technical Support. We re-tried everything, and then they suggested putting the switches in the opposite positions as documented. It then worked. They might spend an additional $0.02 on documentation and save everyone time. It worked flawlessly after that.

It worked well an older Sears Craftman in a house we bought. It has a learning button (green) and is probably vintage 1990s.

I read a review that said installing this device knocked out other remotes. In our case this did not happen, the other remotes continue to work.

It's big and klunky, but I'm pleased.

I have an old Sears Craftsman garage door opener. I was skeptical that the Clicker would work with my prehistoric opener. At first it didn't. The included instructions didn't work at all. I had almost given up when I Googled the Clicker and found the company's website. The instructions on their site made more sense and it worked like a charm. So don't give up on it, just find the right directions.

I agree with some of the previous reviewers when they mention the size of the remote. It is a little bulky and the clip doesn't fit very well on my Honda Accord visor. Other than that I'm really glad I gambled on it!

First of all, this remote is very big and bulky. I was hoping to replace a big Multi-code remote and a LiftMaster remote with this. Turns out this is bigger in size than the old, bulky Multi-code remote. Setup for the LiftMaster was a piece-of-cake thanks to the learning button on the door opener. Had to get a ladder and open up the control box to get to it, but worked promptly. The Multi-code, on the other hand, took a lot of time and frustration and still did not work. I should've just listened to one of the reviewers (drwam) who already mentioned this. The Clicker support website has the CLT1 which says it supports Multi-code brand, but the model being reviewed here is the CLT1D which does not even show up on their website or their automated phone support as a valid model. When I finally talked to their support person, he confirmed that the new CLT1D dropped support for Multi-code because 'it was outdated technology'. Beats the purpose of being a universal remote. He also confirmed that the older CLT1 did support Multi-code remotes. They need to mention this in their literature so Multi-code owners don't make the same mistake I did. Needless to say, I have returned the remote.
