Enjoy reliability and style with the Chamberlain PD210D Power Drive 1/2-Horsepower Chain Drive Garage Access System. Backed by a six-year warranty, this attractive industrial-strength garage-door opener features a 1/2-horsepower motor and ultra-durable chain drive to deliver smooth, steady performance year after year. Compatible with HomeLink, an in-vehicle remote-control system, the PD210D includes a single-button remote with battery and visor clip.

The PD210D 1/2-Horsepower
Garage Access System
At a Glance:
  • "Security+" rolling-code technology
  • Industrial-strength 1/2-horsepower motor
  • PosiLock theft protection
  • Safety sensors with Rapid-Snap brackets
  • Remote control and multi-function wall-mount panel

Multifunction control panel
lets you turn on the lights or
open/lock garage door from inside.

Enclosed gear case provides continuous lubrication and protection for long life.

Safety sensors guard against accidents
by projecting an invisible light
across garage-door opening.

In-vehicle remote control
is HomeLink compatible.
Easy Garage Door Operation with Enhanced Security
Winner of the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, the PD210D is a safe, secure, and easy-to-operate system that gives you quick and trouble-free access to your garage. Like all Chamberlain garage door openers, this model comes equipped with Security+ rolling technology that prevents someone from stealing the information your remote uses to communicate with your opener. With every push, the remote will transmit a brand new security code--one of 100 billion available, none of which will ever be repeated.

Additionally, PosiLock theft protection means that once the door is closed, it stays locked. The result is an extremely reliable level of security that ensures only authorized individuals have access to your garage.

Industrial Strength Motor for Long-Term, Dependable Performance
To ensure long-term, responsive performance, the PD210D features an industrial-strength 1/2-horsepower motor that produces more than enough lifting power for your single or double garage door.

Additionally, an enclosed gear case provides continuous lubrication and protection for long life and smooth operation. An added bonus, rugged, chain-driven construction provides superior, long-lasting dependability and durability, even after thousands of openings and closings.

Protects Cars, Pets, and Small Children
This PD210D has a system that protects against accidental closings, making it ideal for households with pets or small children. It uses sensors with Rapid-Snap brackets to project an invisible light beam across the garage door opening--the door will automatically reverse if anything interrupts the beam while the door is descending. For example, if you leave the tail end of your car in the path of the descending garage door, the door will stop moving before it can do damage to your vehicle.

For added peace of mind, the PD210D has lights that will automatically turn on when the infrared beam is broken, and a manual release lever means you can operate the door in a power outage.

Quick-Rail System for Fast and Easy Installation
Thanks to a quick-install rail system, the PD210D sets up in less than one minute, and it comes with clear, step-by-step instructions that guide you through the process.

For added convenience, this system delivers 100 watts of light with adjustable time delay, and includes a single-button remote control. It also comes with a multi-function wall-mount panel that allows you to control both the light and lock-out feature.

What's in the Box
Motor unit with light lenses; wall-mount door control; chain and cable in dispensing carton; Protector System (sending eye, receiving eye, two-conductor white and white/black bell wire attached); single-button remote with battery; all required mounting brackets; rails; hardware; and safety labels and literature.

A manual release lever means you can operate the door in a power outage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy, Affordable, and Quiet October 20, 2004
By Mithras
Amazon Verified Purchase
I installed two of these chain driven Chamberlains for two doors. My wife was not available to help me with the install (she is not easy, affordable or quiet [just kidding, dear]). However, I was able to do them both myself with the help of a 6 ft ladder, a Makita cordless, a socket set, and a screwdriver.

It took me about 38 minutes to assemble the first one and 20 minutes for the second one. After that, each unit required about an hour to attach brackets and mount. A fairly easy job that required some skill. I needed to purchase the screws/bolts required to mount the unit to the support (they give most but not all screws/bolts as every garage is different). My garage required installing brackets to the supports as well.

I like my wires neat, so I purchased an Arrow electric staple gun - a good move (the one I bought can handle rounded and squared staples along with one size of nail). Installing the sensors is required, and putting up all of the keypads and sensor wires for both units took about 40-50 minutes. A piece of cake job (with a staple gun), and the sensors mounted easily on their brackets.

A light bulb and some tweaking are required (15 minutes each unit). Adjusting the door up and down limits is a trial and error method of rotating two screws to the correct position (opening and closing the door to make sure it goes high/low enough). I didn't have to tamper with the force adjustments, but I don't have heavy wooden garage doors.

I helped my buddy install his Chamberlain Primo Belt Driver unit, and I honestly don't think it's that much quieter to justify the extra expense. However, my garage isn't connected to my house, so I don't hear it. It's probably worth the extra $ if a main room is right above the garage. It's not a huge difference, though.

5 stars as it's a great buy for the money.

** Added ** - I've had these for about four years now, and no problems. They work work well with the Security+ keychain remotes that I've purchased.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good opener, be wary of Amazon February 7, 2006
I ordered 2 PD210 openers in early November 05 and received them in late February of 06. Besides the dealings with Amazon the openers are great. I installed them this weekend and they work well, were easy to install and are very quiet. Be wary of a few things though. Amazon drug their feet for almost 4 months because I clicked the "send in as few shipments as possible" button. After they suggested I split them up I had the openers, in 2 separate shipments, within 2 days. Also be aware that the CLK1 remote keypad control DOES NOT WORK WITH THESE OPENERS! I had trouble programming it and called the support line. One of the first things the recording says is that it will not function with Chamberlain openers that have a purple learn button, like the ones I received. So besides those few things these openers appear to work great, I am happy witht the Chamberlain experience, just not the Amazon experience.

I bought this is a gift for my father, he loved it. This product was easy to install it only took about 1/2 hour to install. The extra security features are wonderful and ease my father's mind. Having the convenience of not getting out of the car has been wonderful. The product shipped in 2 days and we got it on the 3rd day. It opens smooth with almost no noise! Thank you for this product.
