In "Chameleon Wolf", Queen of Male Romance Stormy Glenn teams up with Joyee Flynn to add a new element to her werewolf romance genre... Delta Wolves.

We've learned from the other novels about Alpha wolves, Betas, and Omegas. Alphas are the leaders, Betas the strongarms for the pack, and Omegas the scapegoats (but sometimes diplomats). Here, they introduce the Delta wolf. Deltas are the most unique of the wolves. They are very rare and usually act as pack hitmen. They have a special wolf form they can take where they're like a chameleon and blend in with their surroundings. This enables them to easily sneak right up to their targets to remove them. They are usually only called upon to do that when a werewolf has committed a heinous crime and eliminating him is the only option (for example, killing scores of humans). The one drawback to being a delta is that deltas give off a special scent that is like a super-powered aphrodisiac. While Alphas and their Betas, and mates of the Delta, are immune to the pheromones, all other wolves are driven into a sexual frenzy, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation. Because of this, Deltas rarely associate with anyone other than their own mates, the pack Alphas, or humans (who are less susceptible). Deltas also have a very strong sex drive and are the only wolves other than tri-omegas who have two mates.

Zac is a Delta. After a mission where he killed a murderous rogue werewolf, he decided to relax for the night before heading back to Illinois. He heads into a bar, not knowing that it's a favorite hangout for werewolves. As he enters, his eyes fall upon Matt sitting with his pack's Alpha and Beta. Matt sees Zac, and the two are transfixed by each other.

this book starts a series about delta wolves. the concept is that delta wolves live a very lonely life becuase they produce a scent that makes everyone want them to an extreme, with the exeption of alphas, betas and their mate. they are sent by the councel on missions, they arn't allowed to go to any functions and in most cases not even contact with their family after they mature. they're only benifit is instead of fate providing one mate as with other wolves, delta's get two, suposedly because of all the adrenalin or somthing they produce makes them more horny.

this particular book starts the series, this delta, after finishing one mission, finds one mate, than on their way home was sent on another mission. this one however doesn't smell right to the delta so he investigates first. his new target is his other mate, the alpha who sent him on this mission is a monster and they also know now that someone on the councel is currupt so who to trust. with the help of his mates and another delta, they have to find a way to the councel with their evidence. after all that, one of the delta's mates brings up an idea to start a pack of deltas and their mates only, for safety so nothing like what they just went through would happen again, and so they can have a the social strength and comrodery as normal packs. this also helps them learn about deltas since even to the delta many things are unknown to them about them.

this is a great series, i really wish there were more than the three. i enjoyed the concept and the charictors and their stories.

This was a good first look at this series of me. I this is the first time that I have read anything by these to authors for me the first book in a series has to made me want to continue to read the rest of the books and this one has. Zac is a Delta wolf who kills rogue wolfs. Besides the Alpha and Beta, Matt is the only other wolf in the bar that doesn't start sniffing the air and going into a lust rage trying to get to Zac. The Alpha sees this starting to happen, and gets his Beta to guard the door, not letting anyone leave so that Zac can get away before everyone goes crazy with lust. When things calm down, the Alpha sends for Matt, who meets he and Zac at Zac's hotel. Matt is the only normal wolf not affected by the Delta, and it's quickly obvious to the two that they're mates. With the blessing of the Alpha, Zac and Matt head off to start their life together. Before they could get to Zac's home though, one of his elders on the council orders him to eliminate another wolf. This wolf is Aiden, a Beta for a different Alpha pack who has been plotting to kill the Alpha. When Zac arrives in chameleon form to kill Aiden, he sees that Aiden is his second mate, and Aiden is not at all like what he'd expect a killer to be like. It's quickly apparent that the Alpha and elder are up to something by trying to eliminate Aiden. After working together they realize that Aiden's Alpha is a crook, they work to bring the man before the council for punishment. They decide to start a new pack with Aiden's best friend Sebastian. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.
