Perennial grass with billowy clouds of soft pink flowers. May be grown as an annual in cold climates. Rampant self-sower. PLANT SELECT AWARD 2003. Clean and soft gray green and graceful glossy mound forming ornamental grass grows 2 to 2 1/2 feet tall and blends well in the middle of the border. Nice grass for ponds, bog areas, border plantings, planters, borders or focal point. Her exceptionally striking silvery and bright pink shimmering flowers sparkle in the sun like Champagne Bubbles. Blooms late July through hard freeze. Likes full to part sun with average moisture. Is not picky about soil type, but appreciates well drained soils. LOVES heat. Easy to grow. Packet of 50+ seeds with propagation sheet for easy germination is always included.

I decided to try these seeds and grow my own Ornamental Grass because I just didn't want to pay $15 plus $7 shipping/handling for a small live Pampas plant in a little-bitty 3inch pot from one of the larger mail-order nurseries. I actually bought 5 varieties of ornamental grass seeds thinking that I'd be very happy if just 3 or 4 actually grew. WOW! I planted the seeds and was very surprised and happy when just 3 days later I had little sprouts in 4 of my 5 planters. The other one took a few days longer to come up but it's doing great, too! I actually only planted 1/2 of the seeds because I decided to save back some to try with again if my first attempt failed. I was also very happy with the service from Hirt's. My seeds arrived quickly and were labeled with basic, easy planting instructions.

I planted all 50 seeds on April 15 in a seed starter 'hot house' environment that I purchased using starter peat pods to give the seeds the best possible chance to grow. Not one of the seeds sprouted and I contacted the seller who responded with a 'not my problem' attitude. Please do not buy from this seller....you will be wasting your money and your time. I feel so ripped off...for shame!

Opened the package to find a few VERY SMALL seedlings; a microscope would have helped. Couldn't individually plant them since they were miniscule. Just kind of dropped them onto the soil, covered and watered. Nothing ever happened. Don't waste your time; buy this one in plant form.
