I was very amazed at how well this drill bit cuts through metal. It's just like the video. Use enough cutting oil and it will last a long time. I put 30+ holes in 1/4 - 1/2" steel plate and the last hole was as easy as the first. I wish I had more of these bits other than the 2 sizes I bought.

I had to cut through I beams on a special project I was working on.. Knowing it was going to "EAT UP" regular "Bi-Metal" hole saws, I decided to try a "Champion" hole saw and purchased it here on Amazon.... Well,.. I WAS AMAZED !!!!!!!!! It DID cut through like butter... Cleanly too ! The metal shavings were flying off the bit... I started on one side, and before i got completely through, finished on the other side... Now, this I beam was about a 1/2" thick and after 4 holes, I looked at the Champion bit closely... I couldn't even see any scratches on it !! It was like I NEVER used it !!!

I am TOTALLY IMPRESSED by the Quality of these bits and intend on buying many more sizes ! If you need to cut through heavy gauge steel, do yourself a favor... buy this ! You will be amazed too !

For cutting stainless a TCT hole cutter like the Champion is the only cutter that will last. Important to run at half the RPM you would use on steel and to let the tungsten carbide teeth cut. Pilot bit is a hard to find 6mm one so a spare is a good idea before you start a big project. Ejection spring helps push out the metal plug after the hole is cut. I have cut 8 gauge stainless with ease. Price seemed high but it is worth it considering how fast it cuts and how long it lasts compared to a bi-metal or carbide hole saw. There are times when I wish I could put a 6 inch extension on the shaft but that is my only complaint.

I used this hole cutter to drill (4) 1 1/4 cross holes in an eight inch diameter sch.80 pipe and the tool worked beautifully. Fast cutting with minimal pressure required and relatively good surface finish. The center ejector spring also work really well and I never had to stop to remove the material plug from the cutter. Having worked in the cutting tool industry for 33 years I can state with confidence that this is a great tool, especially considering the relative low cost for a carbide tool of this quality.

We used this bit in harden steel (T1), we took our time and used plenty of cutting fluid to keep the bit cool, worked great.

Great bit very fast, great for a drill press but use caution when using a hand drill motor. Any bounce can break the teeth.

I needed to drill precise holes in 1" tubular stainless steel and make sure I didn't have any colateral damage. A regular bit this size chatters so much that it made it difficult to get clean holes, this solved that problem.

I had to drill 114 holes in 3/8" thick aluminum plate...this did it almost like I was cutting thru butter.
