I was very amazed at how well this drill bit cuts through metal. It's just like the video. Use enough cutting oil and it will last a long time. I put 30+ holes in 1/4 - 1/2" steel plate and the last hole was as easy as the first. I wish I had more of these bits other than the 2 sizes I bought.

good for steel, even stainless at low RPM,
This review is from: Champion CT7 Tungsten Carbide Tipped 1-5/8-Inch Hole Cutter 2-1/8-Inch Thick Metal (Tools & Home Improvement)
For cutting stainless a TCT hole cutter like the Champion is the only cutter that will last. Important to run at half the RPM you would use on steel and to let the tungsten carbide teeth cut. Pilot bit is a hard to find 6mm one so a spare is a good idea before you start a big project. Ejection spring helps push out the metal plug after the hole is cut. I have cut 8 gauge stainless with ease. Price seemed high but it is worth it considering how fast it cuts and how long it lasts compared to a bi-metal or carbide hole saw. There are times when I wish I could put a 6 inch extension on the shaft but that is my only complaint.

I had to cut through I beams on a special project I was working on.. Knowing it was going to "EAT UP" regular "Bi-Metal" hole saws, I decided to try a "Champion" hole saw and purchased it here on Amazon.... Well,.. I WAS AMAZED !!!!!!!!! It DID cut through like butter... Cleanly too ! The metal shavings were flying off the bit... I started on one side, and before i got completely through, finished on the other side... Now, this I beam was about a 1/2" thick and after 4 holes, I looked at the Champion bit closely... I couldn't even see any scratches on it !! It was like I NEVER used it !!!
I am TOTALLY IMPRESSED by the Quality of these bits and intend on buying many more sizes ! If you need to cut through heavy gauge steel, do yourself a favor... buy this ! You will be amazed too !

Champion RotoBrute hole saws,
By

We have a set of these Champion Rotobrute hole saws at work and they are the best hole saws I have ever seen. For years we used the blue mol hole saws but when your drilling through stainless steel they dont last long and it takes awhile to drill the hole. With the "Rotobrute" its like a hot knife through butter and they last far longer than the blue mols. Although they cost more they are well worth the price. I would like to get a set for my personel use when they become available. If you have to drill a lot of large holes in metal these are well worth the investment.
