Product Description

Ready to go fishin'? Championship Bass from EA Sports is a great catch--even for non-anglers. This game is loaded with lures and fishing options like water temperature, time of day, time of year, water color and even how smart the fish are, but it's the fish fights that are truly remarkable.

Depending on the size of your catch, battles with bass can last 20 minutes or more as you raise and lower the rod, let the reel spool free, and tighten it in to bring home your catch. We recommend using an optional fishing-rod controller for even more realism.

With four sweeping lakes to tackle, players have plenty of locations to search for the big one. Tournament and career modes pit gamers against computer fishermen as they try to catch the heaviest five bass within a set time limit. Bluegills and catfish also fill the lakes, but it's the big bass that players will be after. --Robb Guido

  • Go anywhere--lakes are full of bass
  • Great fish fights

Product Description

Championship Bass takes PlayStation fishing to new depths! It is an intricately detailed, realistic bass fishing game and the first fishing title to incorporate level-based gameplay. Challenging for beginners and seasoned anglers, these bass jump, shake, and roll to throw the lure. The dynamic camera movement features simultaneous above-water and underwater views where players can see the fish and tease them to strike. Play in either professional bass tournaments or just fish recreationally using your choice of fishing lures, rods, and reels.

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT game for all ages.... January 8, 2001
By Mercury
If my 65 year-old Dad who never plays Playstation can catch lunker sized bass, you can too. I LOVE this game. The underwater view allows you to really learn how to make lures look real, and use rod action to attract and catch bass (small and largemouth), bluegill, and catfish. You can set out on 4 different lakes (3 + one hidden) in career, tournament, and fishing trip modes, or see just how good you are in any of the 13+ challenge levels. If you've NEVER tried a fishing game before, this is a great title to get you started.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for it's time April 28, 2006
By Gameboy
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game was great for it's time. I still enjoy it even though I have other fishing titles now on current gen systems. I gave it a 5 for fun b/c when I played this game it was a blast. I gave it a 3 overall due to the fact that it is now outdated due to grainy graphics. I had this game at one time and ended up giving it to my nephew as a present b/c he loved it so much. So later on when I wanted to play it again I was left with the "buy myself another copy" option. =) I bought it on here and received it within a few days. Great service. But anyhow, if you want to play a great old gen system fishing game and you don't mind the very grainy graphics, then by all means pick this one up. You get to drive your boat all around the lakes which is a major plus in my book. But if you want a current gen fishing title with awesome graphics then get Pro Fishing Challenge on the XBOX. Rapala Pro Fishing on the PS2 is another fun title but the levels are very small and the graphics are not as good as in Pro Fishing Challenge.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real Fishing game for everyone! April 19, 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is actually the most realistic I've played for the ps1 you can controll high low and spool free drag, you have to follow the fish while reeling in instead of just reeling in, the fish fights are intense and the fishes AI is incredible even enticing the fish to bite is hard, you have to learn lure tecniques for each lure, theres even an unsuspected fish type! challange mode fishing trip Tournament need I go on? you can controll the level of fish AI. its EA fishing is a sport need I make it clearer!? SO in overall totals for pros and cons

1 Tournament mode, Fishing Trip mode, Challange mode, and Career
2 Advanced bass AI and challanging fights fish even behave differently during different months temps and wheather its cloudy clear or the water is clear or muddy!!
3 all your record bass are recorded!
4 fishing trip is like a free mode to do all the free fishing you want where you controll the lake the time of year, weather choose between sunny cloudy and rain in some months you may even choose Snow!!, tempratures from 41' to 84' depending on month, the quality of water stain clear and muddy, and start times!!!
5 different line strength for different lures! and advanced tackle setup
6 Dive the boat anywhere! no more trolling!!!!
7 outstanding graphics the water looks great and the fish look real!
8 several different lures!!!
9 you can even catch catfish I've never seen that in any other fishing game so in total 4 different species of fish largmouth and smallmouth bass, bluegill, and Catfish!!!!!!
10 You can choose a male or female angler
Realistic fights while reeling in.
11 Huge lakes and pleanty of nice hidden spots to catch fish and amazing sceanery especially the eye popping waterfalls.
